Maddy, painful as it is to hear, I think there's some truth in what you say! However, I think ARR still has interest in working in the Indian Film Industry. When asked how long he'll continue doing film music he said until he gets bored of it.
On the other hand, ARR is doing quite a few Tamil movies at the moment, more than he's done in a while. It makes me wonder whether he is planning to take a hiatus from IFM & concentrate on international projects. Maybe he's planning to go out with a bang. Has anyone else thought this or is it just me?
Maddy, the language has a lot to do with how the music sounds, you do realise.
He would probably stay in Hollywood for a few months to do the music then come back to Chennai, and work like that, the music is usually done in a couple of months or less.
He doesn't need to compose for hundreds of movies in Hollywood in order to make his mark, this was proven by SDM.
There is so much that can be done in TFM, see how long IR stayed in TFM...
I predict AR will re invent himself and TFM before he goes for a pause or leaves.

I dont think he should move to Hollywood permanently for it is very competitive in terms of
1. I agree with Maddy that he is already a king in India but he cant command that much respect here in the US
2. Music ONLY is not a super-star status it is part of the movie (though gets elevated for the OSCAR type difference)
3. The projects he works on should be a HIT like SDM otherwise, his ernest and futile efforts and hardwork will go waste for no reason
I dont think he should move out of the comfort zone, and should implement the various things like "ownership" of music, copyrights and such which he has been proposing for a long time. At least we can eliminate copy cats and tupid pellow's who shine under somebody else's cause.

The quality of the music speaks for itself.
Couldn't agree more.
I won't agree Maddy. It is not about doing something new all the time. If he stops doing TFM, we wont get songs like Ennaveley, Snehithaney, kanna moochi enada etc., (already a part of me is missing that ARR who makes soothing carnatic melodies, eventhough his gradual evolution to produce something like Dil gira dafatan, Rehna tu is making me forget those regrests). I can give countless examples of his songs which would have come only for TFI, we would certainly miss such peices when he stops composing for TFI. Ideally we would like to have an even mix of all the three industries :DQuote:
