I don't know how far this is true, but the rumour in Malaysia is that he was caught for khalwat in Malaysia last year. Khalwat means being in compromising position where one party is Muslim and is an offence in Muslim law. Marriage was the way out offered to save the girl's dignity. (Khalwat law applies only to Muslims).

If you have seen the photos of his marriage, you would notice that he wears a songkok. Songkok is Malay headgear and is also used by some Indian-Muslims here to identify with the Malays.

As I said earlier, I have no idea how true is this allegation.
