My God, when I read the lines "Maragatha Megam sindhum mazhai varum neramidhu" I tried really hard to get the tune to which the lines were set and finally I got it! Believe me it's been nearly twenty years since I either heard this song or tried humming it. That sent me on a nostalgic trip to the days when amidst bitter exchanges we used to hoist our favorite MD's flag up. Time was when I used to literally die by MSV and those days are "NinathalE Inikkum" even now. It was only later it became crystal clear to me that Maestro Ilayaraja is a talent not commonly seen. I would like to list the following songs of MSV that I am still very fond of. Where possible I have also listed the movie names.

The december pookal song was actually sung by chitra and yesudas-sorry about the mix up.
I am glad mythila mentioned the 'Theertakarayinile' song by chitra-the song has a fabulous start, i mean the music - just an ensemble of violins. Also there's an other song by SPB -Theertakarai odathile then podigai sarathile-also a good one. I think the film starred roopini and mohan.
The songs from the movie 'Ninaikatherinda maname' were all very good, though the movie flopped.
I remember two songs
a-by Yesudas-Kannukkum kannukum oodal nenjathai
b- i think another solo by PSusheela-Yengengu nee sendra pothum angangu-a kind of a slow song
This movie too starred Mohan and Roopini. I think the MD was Ilayaraja.
The gowri manohari song - a duet by Vanijayarama dn SPB. the movie starred Sumithra and Vishnuvardhan-directed by Lakshmi.
