I don't exactly remember when I actually became a fan of yours. Poova Unnakaga, Love Today all made good impressions, but I think I got nailed after Kadalukku Mariyadhai and no turning back ever since. I guess, the fanatical following for Vijay in my home town also made an impact those days.
No surprises, it was your dance that began to make an impact. Still remember the days when I used to wait for Sun TV's top 10 songs, Neengal Ketta Padal, Pepsi Ungal Choice and programmes of the kind to play your songs be it Ennai Thalatta from KM,Vanna Nilave from NV,Akkuthay Akkuthay from Nilava Va, Nooru Koodi from TMT and almost all songs from Priyamudan.
Engineering days were all about Vijay Vs Ajith. Rollercoaster for both the stars, the period lets say from Priyamanavalae to Ghilli. Offcourse it was a great finish, but always felt Vijay gave more movies for Ajith fans and vice versa :) and by doing so allowed a couple of unassuming hopefulls a leeway to the top.
Thankfully, now both seems to have got the focus back and are primarily worried about their fans :) and hence seems to have gained some lost ground
Though I am not a great fan of your punch dialogues and political aspirations, I wish you give us two more decades of good movies and movies only. We wish to see you take up more challenging roles and work with talented film makers.

Today (Dec 4) is a very significant date inIlayathalapathy Vijay‘s career.
His first film Naalaiya Theerpu released on December 4, 1992. His long and tiring journey to super stardom has not exactly been a bed of roses. But against all odds through sheer grit and hard work he made it to the top.
20 years down the line and still Vijay is going from strength to strength. And this Diwali, he has delivered his biggest hit in his life the AR Murgadoss directed Thuppakki. The film is said to be the third highest grossing film of all times, which is another feather on his cap.
Meanwhile for the actor it is work as usual. He is shooting in Mumbai for Vijay directed untitled film for producer Chandraprakash Jain. When sify.com contacted the star on completing two decades in the industry, he said modestly: “I’m happy about it but don’t treat it as a personal milestone. All this happened only due to the love of my fans and audiences who stood with me through thick and thin. My father who was more than a mentor and guiding force, producers and directors who had trust in me and above all God’s grace.”
Congrats to Vijay with his 20 years in cinema. I hope he will continue in cinema many many more years ahead to entertain.
