Grouch, excellent. Keep em coming. Let's see if this inspires pr to write on dal-pati.
The setup of events by mahendran was something out of the world. As you observed, mani borrowed it for dal-pati. So even if dalpati wins, mm will have its victory :-)
Thanks Plum. Yeah, I too am waiting for PR to post his. Lovely to revisit and write about these films and mourn on the talent left behind by Rajini. :(
Negative tone already in preparation for eventual defeat ?Such is the power of Dalapathi.Quote:

Asserts his authority with a roar of anger that has them all taking aback. In a moment he cools down and understands they meant well and in a generous, soft and big-brotherly tone dismisses them.
Beautiful expression, the fluency of the change is to be seen to be believed.
Groucho.. best so far.. your posts are getting better and better :thumbsup:Quote:

In a way very much similar to "nalal sivam" charecter where the guy who was once a hero, nderstands the reality( "munna maadhiri irundha balti adichu sanda potrukalam") and shifts to a humourous man from being a angry hero.
but here he stays as a charecter and never gives up his ego even after understanding the reality.
Thanks PR and Viv for promoting MM
PR, Viv, as a responsible journalist I am going to copy your posts and rewrite them later
Anyway, the scenes are all worth mentioning. To think it was Mahendran's first film, whoa!
Is it??? :notworthy:Quote:

One thing that has always struck me in 'muLLum malarum' is the "unequal" relationship shared by Kaali and Valli. There is a recurring moment in the film where the camera zooms in on Valli's face with the kottu from the street show they did as kids playing in the background. These moments are handled in a manner to suggest some guilt on Valli's part and also her unceasing realisation that she is indebted to her brother in so many ways, which she finds even a bit disconcerting. This is a brilliant move to say the least.
