Yes I've noticed shops tat sell soft drinks whether cans or bottles, seldom even wipe them clean...they look so filthy! :x
Of course this wudnt really be a problem to me as I gave up soft drinks a couple of yrs ago.....
But still, a warning worth issuing to those who take them.....
prob cos spiders are very much there and can be seen, while you can't see death and can't totally understand it enuf to fear it.Quote:

repugnant creature in all his life. He refused to
force his friend to marry her and endure such a
terrible burden, but Lancelot, having learnt of the
proposal, spoke with Arthur. He said nothing was too
big of a sacrifice compared to Arthur's life and the
preservation of the Round Table.
Hence, a wedding was proclaimed and the witch answered
Arthur's question thus: "What a woman really wants,"
she said, "is to be in charge of her own life."
Everyone in the kingdom instantly knew that the witch
had uttered a great truth and that Arthur's life would
be spared. And so it was, the neighboring monarch
granted Arthur his freedom and Lancelot and the witch
had a wonderful wedding.
The honeymoon hour approached and Lancelot, steeling
himself for a horrific experience, entered the bed
room. But, what a sight awaited him. The most
beautiful woman he had ever seen, lay before him on
the bed. The astounded Lancelot asked what had
happened. The beauty replied that since he had been so
kind to her when she appeared as a witch, she would
henceforth be her horrible and deformed self only half
the time and the beautiful maiden the other half.
"Which would you prefer? she asked him. "Beautiful
during the day ... or at night?"
Lancelot pondered the predicament.
During the day he could have a beautiful woman to show
off to his friends, but at night, in the privacy of
his castle, an old witch!
Or,
would he prefer having a hideous witch during the day,
but by night a beautiful woman for him to enjoy
wonderous, intimate moments with?

Noble Lancelot, knowing the answer the witch gave
Arthur to his question, said that he would allow HER
to make the choice herself.
Upon hearing this, she announced that she would be
beautiful all the time because he had respected her
enough to let her be in charge of her own life.
Now ... what is the moral to this story?
The moral is ..
1) If you don't let a woman have her own way, things
are going to get ugly.
2) There is witch in every woman no matter how
beautiful she is!!

An 80 year old man was sitting on the sofa in his house along with his 45 year's old highly educated son. Suddenly a crow perched on their window.
The father asked his son, "What is this?"
The son replied "It is a crow".
After a few minutes, the father asked his son the 2nd time, "What is this?"
The son said "Father, I have just now told you "It's a crow".
After a little while, the old Father again asked his son the 3rd time,

"At this time some expression of irritation was felt in the son's tone when he said to his father with a rebuff. "It's a crow, a crow".
A little after, the Father again asked his Son the 4th time, "What is this?"
This time the son shouted at his father, "Why do you keep asking me the same question again and again, although I have told you so many times
'IT'S A CROW'. Are you not able to understand this?"
A little later the father went to his room and came back with an old tattered diary, which he had maintained since his son was born. On opening a page, he asked his Son to read that page. When the son read it, the following words were written in the diary:-
"Today my little son aged three was sitting with me on the sofa, when a crow was sitting on the window. My son asked me 23 times what it was, and I replied to him all 23 times that it was a Crow. I hugged him lovingly each time he asked me the same question again and again for 23 times. I did not at all feel irritated, I rather felt affection for my innocent child".
While the little child asked him 23 times "What is this", the father had felt no irritation in replying to the same question all 23 times and when today the father asked his son the same question just 4 times, the son felt irritated and annoyed.
So If your parents attain old age, do not repulse them or look at them as a burden, but speak to them a gracious word; be cool, obedient, humble and kind to them. Be considerate to your parents.
From today say this aloud,
"I want to see my parents happy forever. They have cared for me ever since I was a little child. They have always showered their selfless love on me. They crossed all mountains and valleys without seeing the storm and heat to make me a person presentable in the society today".

Dr. Arun Gandhi, grandson of Mahatma Gandhi and founder of the
M.K.Gandhi Institute for Non-violence, in his June 9 lecture at the
University of Puerto Rico, shared the following story as an example
of "non-violence in parenting":
"I was 16 years old and living with my parents at the institute my
grandfather had founded 18 miles outside of Durban, South Africa, in
the middle of the sugar plantations. We were deep in the country and
had no neighbors, so my two sisters and I would always look forward
to going to town to visit friends or go to the movies.
One day, my father asked me to drive him to town for an all-day
conference, and I jumped at the chance. Since I was going to town, my
mother gave me a list of groceries she needed and, since I had all
day in town, my father ask me to take care of several pending
chores, such as getting the car serviced. When I dropped my father
off that morning, he said, 'I will meet you here at 5:00 p.m., and we
will go home together.'
After hurriedly completing my chores, I went straight to the nearest
movie theatre. I got so engrossed in a John Wayne double-feature that
I forgot the time. It was 5:30 before I remembered. By the time I ran
to the garage and got the car and hurried to where my father was
waiting for me, it was almost 6:00. He anxiously asked me, 'Why were
you late?' I was so ashamed of telling him I was watching a John
Waynewestern movie that I said, 'The car wasn't ready, so I had to
wait,' not realizing that he had already called the garage. When he
caught me in the lie, he said: 'There's something wrong in the way I
brought you up that didn't give you the confidence to tell me the
truth. In order to figure out where I went wrong with you, I'm going
to walk home 18 miles and think about it.'
So, dressed in his suit and dress shoes, he began to walk home in the
dark on mostly unpaved, unlit roads. I couldn't leave him, so for
five-and-a-half hours I drove behind him, watching my father go
through this agony for a stupid lie that I uttered.
I decided then and there that I was never going to lie again. I often
think about that episode and wonder, if he had punished me the way we
punish our children, whether I would have learned a lesson at all. I
don't think so. I would have suffered the punishment and gone on
doing the same thing. But this single non-violent action was so
powerful that it is still as if it happened yesterday.

Once upon a time ...
There was a rich King who had 4 wives.
He loved the 4th wife the most and adorned her with rich robes and treated her to the finest of delicacies. He gave her nothing but the best.
He also loved the 3rd wife very much and was always showing her off to neighboring kingdoms. However, he feared that one day she would leave him for another.
He also loved his 2nd wife. She was his confidante and was always kind, considerate and patient with him. Whenever the King faced a problem, he could confide in her to help him get through the difficult times.
The King's 1st wife was a very loyal partner and had made great contributions in maintaining his wealth and kingdom. However, he did not love the first wife and although she loved him deeply, he hardly took notice of her.
One day, the King fell ill and he knew his time was short.
He thought of his luxurious life and pondered, "I now have 4 wives with me, but when I die, I'll be all alone.
Thus, he asked the 4th wife, "I have loved you the most, endowed you with the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?"
"No way!" replied the 4th wife and she walked away without another word.
Her answer cut like a sharp knife right into his heart.
The sad King then asked the 3rd wife, "I have loved you all my life. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?"
"No!" replied the 3rd wife. "Life is too good!
When you die, I'm going to remarry!"
His heart sank and turned cold.
He then asked the 2nd wife, "I have always turned to you for help and you've always been there for me. When I die, will you follow me? And keep me company?"
"I'm sorry, I can't help you out this time!" replied the 2nd wife. "At the very most, I can only send you to your grave."
Her answer came like a bolt of thunder and the King was devastated.
Then a voice called out:
"I'll leave with you and follow you no matter where you go." The King looked up and there was his first wife. She was so skinny, she suffered from malnutrition.
Greatly grieved, the King said, "I should have taken much better care of you when I had the chance!"
In Truth, we all have 4 wives in our lives ...
Our 4th wife is our body. No matter how much time and effort we lavish in making it look good, it'll leave us when we die.
Our 3rd wife is our possessions, status and wealth.
When we die, it will all go to others.
Our 2nd wife is our friends. No matter how much they have been there for us, the furthest they can stay by us is up to the grave.
And our 1st wife is our Parents,
Often neglected in pursuit of wealth, power and pleasures of the ego. However, our Parents are the only thing that will follow us and guide wherever we go.
So Love them at our best..... They need and Love you most!!!
You are their greatest gift

Let me give my own Anecdote
Everytime you ask God why give me such a life, remember the stories of those who have flourished under doom.
For every mistake there is committed, there is always a correction but it is up to the person to understand why the mistake must be corrected.
A wife is not another woman in your life, she is the extension of your mother.
Everytime you feel like committing a sin, think of the consequences that those who suffer the sin will go through.
Today is special day in our life time.
Just in case you wanted to know this.
Today, at two minutes and three seconds after 1:00 in the morning, the time and date will be 01:02:03 04/05/06.
That won't ever happen again in our lifetime In fact it will be approx. 400 generations before it happens again.

There once was a King who offered a prize to the artist who would paint the best picture of peace. Many artists tried. The King looked at all the pictures, but there were only two he really liked, and he had to choose between them.
One picture was of a calm lake. The lake was a perfect mirror for peaceful towering mountains were all around it. Overhead was a blue sky with fluffy white clouds. All who saw this picture thought that it was a perfect picture of peace.
The other picture had mountains too. But these were rugged and bare. Above was an angry sky from which rain fell, in which lightening played. Down the side of the mountain tumbled a foaming waterfall. This did not look peaceful at all.
Which picture do you think won the prize?
The King chose the second picture. Do you know why?
When the King saw, he saw behind the waterfall a tiny bush growing in a crack in the rock. In the bush a mother bird had built her nest. There, in the midst of the rush of angry water, sat the mother bird on her nest .... in perfect peace.
The King explained, "Peace does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. Peace means to be in the midst of all those things and still be calm in your heart. That is the real meaning of peace." :D
Yes...that is something all humans need to preach...it can be similarly termed as keeping your cool during volatile circumstances..brilliant..:thumbsup:

After a few more moments of discussion (and a written statement absolving the circus of liability if the man should be injured), the keeper finally agreed to allow the man inside Bozo's cage. The man removed his brown derby and entered the cage of the bellowing and trumpeting beast.
Before the elephant could charge, the man began to speak to him. Bozo seemed to immediately quiet down upon hearing the man's words. Nearby spectators could also hear the man, but they could not understand him, for he spoke a foreign language. Soon the great animal began to tremble, whine and throw his head about. Then the stranger walked up to Bozo and stroked his trunk. The great elephant tenderly wrapped his trunk around the man, lifted him up and carried him around his cage before carefully depositing him back at the door. Everyone applauded.
As the cage door closed behind him, the man said to Bozo's keeper, "You see, he is a good elephant. His problem is that he is an Indian elephant and understands one language." He explained that Bozo was frustrated and confused. He needed someone who could speak his language. "I suggest, sir, that you find someone in London to come in occasionally and talk to the elephant. If you do, you'll have no problems."
The man picked up his brown derby and walked away. It was at that time that the circus owner looked carefully at the signature on the paper he held in his hand -- the note absolving the circus of responsibility in the case he was injured inside the elephant's cage. The statement was signed by Rudyard Kipling.
Ah Kipling....he is very famous for depicting stories of animals...i think we should term this anecdote as a description of Kipling's relationship with animals...nice one Nov sir..:thumbsup:

Interesting Happenings
Do you always notice that when you promise or defiantly say that it will be done/will not be done...it always turns out to be the opposite?
Sometimes they say that words said in anger or defiance are usually not applicable and usually reflect on the behavior then the facts.
Some say it is due to karma. So the next time when you guys have things happening to you in the opposite when you expected them to happen...ask yourself how it happened..:)

There was once a stone cutter who was dissatisfied with himself and with his position in life.

Then he became the cloud, flooding the fields and villages, shouted at by everyone. But soon he found that he was being pushed away by some great force, and realized that it was the wind. "How powerful it is!" he thought. "I wish that I could be the wind!"
Then he became the wind, blowing tiles off the roofs of houses, uprooting trees, feared and hated by all below him. But after a while, he ran up against something that would not move, no matter how forcefully he blew against it - a huge, towering rock. "How powerful that rock is!" he thought. "I wish that I could be a rock!"
Then he became the rock, more powerful than anything else on earth. But as he stood there, he heard the sound of a hammer pounding a chisel into the hard surface, and felt himself being changed. "What could be more powerful than I, the rock?" he thought.
He looked down and saw far below him the figure of a stone cutter.
NOV sir...there is a moral for this anecdote rite?..something like we should always be happy with who we are and what we are doing and neva desire anything that is beyond us

The door opened a third time. A smile came across his face. This was the weakest, scrawniest little bull he had ever seen. This one was his bull. As the bull came running by, he positioned himself just right and jumped at just the exact moment. He grabbed... but the bull had no tail !
Life is full of opportunities. Some will be easy to take advantage of, some will be difficult. But once we let them pass (often in hopes of something better), those opportunities may never again be available. So always grab the first opportunity
