From a super neutral point of view, the pathos songs are remakes of old thalaivar songs, the five female solos are wonderful with mostly soulful and simple orchestration. But the pick of the soundtrack will be these two songs rangu rangu and hodedavne.
Hodedavne especially is totally unexpected from thalaivar. Certainly does not sound like thalaivar composed it. But super maame :smokesmirk:
Hulk,
I will post my review after a few more listens but from the initial listens, I agree with what you say. Especially about 'Hodadavane'. It is definitely not like a Raja composition for these type of songs. The two songs in 'Nannavanu' are more the known Raja style for these type of songs. The energy in 'Hodadavane' is quite good.
The two pathos songs have the hallmarks of past Raja songs, the way the tune moves, the interludes, everything. Raja fans will like these but their general acceptability may not be too high.
The female solos are fantastic with both 'Sringara' and 'Koogu Kogile' being superb. 'Rangu Rangu' is super cool.
Overall a very nice album.
:exactly: suresh. But i feel some of our brigade will have problems with the "synth" usage in the songs. Still hodedavne perfectly justifies its synth usage.
Is it just me or does it look like IR feels frightened to give his best songs to someone else to sing?
:lol2: It is said that IR does all track recordings first and if the singers do not come on time he himself will record it. Not sure if this is the case for this as well. But Giliya Mariyondu sounds good in thalaivar's voice.
I have been observing this for the past 2 years :DQuote:
