Teaser review: Great background score sets the tone for Kaththi
First impressions, they say, are the lasting ones. On that score, the first thing that strikes you on watching actor Vijay's forthcoming Tamil film Kaththi's teaser, released late on Thursday, is its background score. It’s powerful and gripping, synthetic yet elemental: without doubt, one of the best for a crime thriller. And the man of the hour is music director Anirudh Ravichander, he who is credited composing Kolaveri Di.

Helmed by A R Murugadoss, the teaser sets the tone of the film: it opens in what looks like a dilapidated godown with Vijay’s shadow trailing a gang of men. No prizes for getting this one right: Vijay's on a war path to wipe out the baddies and he means business. The twirl of his knife is enough to set the cat among the pigeons: you don’t come in his way.
This is Vijay’s second outing with Murugadoss after the stupendous success of Thuppakki (2012). In Kaththi, Vijay’s character is pitted against Bollywood’s Neil Nitin Mukesh, who plays a rather sophisticated villain. Samantha Ruth Prabhu plays the romantic interest to the hero. There are some hints that Vijay will be seen in a double role, but nothing is confirmed. The film is set for Diwali release.

'Kaththi' teaser review
A.R. Murugadoss and his team had hit one more six in the form of a teaser this time. The 49 second long teaser is actually does not reveal anything, but it has achieved its purpose pretty easily. We get to Vijay walking with a group of people and spinning the knife quite professionally in the first few seconds, and his face is revealed through a spinning cartwheel.
Under all probability, the Vijay, who is carrying the pipe is expected to be the villain and the one who is along with elder peoples in a tunnel with a Petromax light is the antagonist. The 360 degree camera spin with the bombastic BGM of Anirudh; is sure to give goosebumps to the fans of Vijay. The official countdown for Diwali has begun!
