காலையில் இருந்து இன்றைய ஸ்பெஷல் தர மூழ்கி விட்டதால் லேட்டான வணக்கத்தை பொறுத்து ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளவும். ரவிச்சந்திரன் கொஞ்சம் அதிகமாக வேலை வாங்கி விட்டார். பாடலிலிருந்து விடுபட்டு வெளியே வர முடியவில்லை.

இனிமேல்தான் தங்கள் அற்புத பாடல்களை கேட்டு ரசித்து எழுத வேண்டும். கும்மிடி எனக்கு பிடித்த நடிகர்.

ஒரு புகழ் பெற்ற நடன இயக்குனர் காலை காட்டுவார்கள் .அவர் பெயர் மறந்து விட்டது

Natraj Gopi Krishna was one of the most outstanding exponents of the Banaras Gharana of Kathak. His performances were marked by individualistic interpretation, showmanship, perfect tempo, and a high calibre of imagination.
Born in Calcutta on 22 August 1933, Gopi Krishna was brought up by his maternal grandfather- the late Pandit Sukhdev Maharaj, who was a noted singer and maestro in the Banaras style of music. He was the only child of Tara Devi, who was also a noted singer and the eldest daughter of Pandit Sukhdev Maharaj. He completed his early schooling in Bombay.
Although he started dancing from the age of 4, formal training began under his maternal grandfather in Calcutta at the age of 11. Panditji was not only his mentor but also his guiding spirit. Gopi Krishna’s training under this great master therefore meant strict discipline and arduous practice for 8 to 10 hours a day. He also received training from Shambu Maharaj and later developed his unique style of kathak dance.
His main interest was the use of classical dancing in Indian Films. His first film success came with “Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baje”, a full-length film by V. Shantaram. Gopi Krishna was only 17 then, but his role in the celebrated film gave classical dance a new status and dimension. The film was a landmark in the history of Indian dance and cinema and brought him fame all over the country.
Gopi Krishna He also performed in and choreographed dances in several great films such as Mughal e Azam, Umrao Jaan, Amrapaali, etc. Besides his own performances in films, he became a famous dance director. His direction in films carried a unique, individualistic touch. Equally significant is his contribution to the field of choreography. He composed a number of solo dance ballets. He was also the first to divide the continuous Kathak style repertoire into distinctive items, the practice of which is now followed by other exponents of Kathak. He introduced the item “Tarana” in Kathak Dance. He choreographed several numbers in Kathak and his exposition of Jatayu Moksha and Ramayana is highly dramatic. He also gave a brilliant demonstration of rhythm on three percussion instruments namely, the Tabla, the Pakhavaj and the Chanda.
Gopi Krishna was awarded the title of NATRAJ at the age of 15 by the All Bengal Music Conference. The KALA PRAPURNA title was conferred to him in Hyderabad in the year 1967 by the Local Arts Association. In 1976, the Prayag Sangeet Samiti in Allahabad honoured him with the NRITYA SAMRAT designation. By the age of 32, he was the recipient of many distinctions and awards, including a PADMA SHRI. He has performed extensively all over the world.
My Guru - Gopi Krishna Natraj Gopi Krishna strived to raise and maintain high standards of Kathak. It is due to his hard work and dedication that Kathak has scaled enormous heights in the world of Art. To guide Kathak to great heights and to mentor more artists in Kathak, Gopiji established Nateshwar Bhavan where he trained young dancers from India and all parts of the world. He was also responsible for training many up and coming actresses, who later became very famous filmstars, including Madhubala, Vaijatimala, Asha Parekh, Mumtaz, Sandhya, Baby Naaz, Mala Sinha, Dimple Kapadia, Reena Roy, Anita Raj, Padma Khanna, Manisha Koirala, Raveena Tandon, Twinkle Khanna, Zeba Bakhtiyar, Somi Ali, Shilpa Shirodkar etc. Even today, new talent continues to be honed and Kathak is taught with the same passion at the institute.
On the fateful night of 17th February 1994, Gopiji passed away leaving behind a huge legacy and a painful void in our hearts. To this date, Gopiji continues to inspire millions world over, even decades after his death.
