Hi Usha,

A lovely pick. What a rhythm!! This song can easily go into the thread about Raja's rhythms. The initial guitar and the sax like instrument that enters, play totally different patterns in the prelude giving an exciting opening to the song. What a rhythmic pattern he has devised for this song. It is very clear that all the drummers and the musicians are enjoying themselves. This is something you miss in the loop based rhythms of today. The melody is great as well.

You keep digging and this great man keeps giving.

Absolutely. I second it. Brilliant rhythm... this is the 1st time i am listening to.

vaasam veesudhae - i am listening to it for the 1st time and i am completely bowled by it. what an enchanting composition. Apt to listen to it just when you open the windows of a room in the evening for the breeze to enter.

Aaah Raaja... Please re-execute these songs, as they are, on new instruments with latest recording. they would be like polished gems.

Good description ragaas. This song is like a breeze. I have not heard it either. Lovely guitar work as usual and the bass is always something to die for. Thanks to Usha for unearthing these gems.

Yes and i suddenly feel that this song has shades of 'Bhaageeswari' raaga. Much like:

1. Mazhai Megham (Sakkarai Pandhal)
2. Aamani Paadave (Geethanjali, Telugu)
3. engeyum Engeyum (Satya)
4. Then Mozhi (dont remember film name, but this is a stellar composition, sung by Mano).

I somehow feel that even this song has Bhaageeswari shades.

Man, when she sings 'sukham sukham'... it is indeed a sukham.

I second that!! lots of gems are lying hidden behind poor recording quality, it will be great to hear them with a face lift.
