குறிப்பிட்ட படங்களைப் பற்றி மட்டுமே எழுதாமல் பலருக்கும் தெரியாத படங்களின் சிறப்புகளைப் பற்றி எழுத வேண்டும் என்று எண்ணத்தினால்தான் இங்கே அது போன்ற படங்களின் விமர்சனங்கள் எழுதுகிறேன். நீங்கள் சொன்னது போல் லிஸ்ட் பார்த்தாலே தெரியும். நடுநடுவே கை கொடுத்த தெய்வங்களும் இடம் பெறுவது அதை ரசிக்கக் கூடிய பலரும் இங்கே இருப்பதனால்தான்.

I am not sure if I can discuss this here especially as it is an ordinary movie:

Oru Yatra Mozhi

Disappointed on multiple scores. Ofcourse, NT is the saving grace of the movie along with IR and Mohanlal. Several trite moments elevated just because he is enacting it. Watchable for the chemistry between Lal and NT(Lal's confidence in front of NT is amazing!) and nothing else. The director added to my misery by not picturising a song sung by MSV for Ilaiyaraja, which I wish had been picturised on NT. For 13 years I have been believing that this song exists in the movie, and it is a gross disappointment :-(

Has MSV sung for Sivaji Ganesan(lip sync or background)?
( I know he sung the background song for the mother in the Aaradhana remake)

Oru Yathra Mozhi was done to salvage the producer VBK Menon. He was the one who produced Chithram. He had started a movie with NT and Lal and the direction was by Rajiv Nath [another good director from the Mallu filmdom].

He had taken a bold theme as the subject. Here NT was the father and Lal his son. A very affectionate father and son. As fate would have it father is diagonised with a life threatening illness. More than the illness, the sufferings he undergoes is more taxing for the son, which leads to a situation where mercy killing is considered. The effects it has on the relationship formed the crux.

But for reasons best known to the producer, this project got dropped and after a year or so in its place this Priyadharsan written, Prathap directed movie came out [1997 July].

Though as you said it is not earth shaking, it was a like a fresh air.

Trust Murali to have complete information :-)
The other plot sounds promising. I do agree that yatramozhi is eminently watchable - just that when you have Mohanlal pitted against NT, my expectations were a little higher.(Add IR to the mix, with MSV singing, and I really was expecting an earth-shattering one!).

மதுரையம்பதியில், சென்ட்ரல் சினிமா திரையரங்கில், 25.12.2009(வெள்ளி) முதல் 31.12.2009(வியாழன்) வரை ஒரு வாரம் தினசரி 4 காட்சிகளாக வெற்றி நடை போட்ட கலையுலக சுந்தரேஸ்வரரின் "திருவிளையாடல்", அள்ளித் தந்த மொத்த வசூல் ரூ.47,000/- (ரூபாய் நாற்பத்து ஏழாயிரம்). பழைய படங்களைப் பொறுத்தவரை இது சிகர சாதனை. இத்திரைக்காவியத்தைத் திரையிட்டவருக்கு, இந்த ஒரு வாரத்தில், ரூ.14,000/- (ரூபாய் பதினான்காயிரம்) லாபம் கிடைத்துள்ளது.

கலைக்கடவுளை நம்பினோர் கைவிடப்படார் !!!
