Dev we use the gelatin to make the jam set, since we are not
using the pectin.
The only other thing that I know is powdered jelly,
or china grass which we call agar-agar.
Try without using anything, may be it will set because
of the seeds.

thanks a lot, that u people enjoyed milagu roti. it is really very tasty.
for keerai kulambu, arai keerai is the first, next is palak, third is molai keerai. i dont think methi leaves will be good. may be the bitter taste will be there. u give a try once.

ahaaaa.....ridge gourd recipes iniki try panniduven planning to go to indian store today....velila kulir...but Kugan nga onga recipes paarthaa udaney poganum polla iruku kadaiku. SP nga thanks for bringing this old recipe up again on kugans..;-)

kugan yr fried appalam in spicy sauce turned out very well.......i didnt fry the appalam just micro'd it....still yummy taste...thank u.

Selvi......I have previously tried yr milagu roti.....& i loved the taste.....too & i made yr kara chutney for dosai....that was one mouth watering chutney thank u too!

COCONUT RICE
Ingredients:
2 cups rice cooked with salt.
1 cup freshly grated coconut
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tbs urad dal
1 tbs channa dal
2 dried red chillies cut into pieces
1 green chillie finely cut
1/4 cup halved cashew nuts
2 sprigs curry leaves
2 tbs ghee
Method:
Spread the cooked rice in a large dish
Heat a tbs of ghee in a wok,
Add the grated coconut and panfry on a medium heat,
Till the flakes turn golden brown.
Remove and spread it on the rice.
Heat another tbs of ghee, add the mustard seeds.
Add the two dals and fry. Lower the heat and add
The dried chillies, green chillie, cashew nuts, and curry leaves.
Fry until the cashew nuts are slightly brown.
Remove it from the stove, and pour it over the rice.
Stir gently to coat the rice with the fried coconut flakes,
And spices. Serve warm or cold.
