One more important thing.. he did give a choice of tunes to directors all the time. People should have a taste for the tunes. For eg. somebody like MGR will be picky about tunes and lyrics. Not many directors have that sort of passion for things. I am not even sure whether new Directors are capable of identifying raagams. But I also feel there was a little less focus on orchestration and lot more on doing things .. making tune fast enough.
Oh well.. we have lots of good stuff from him and very that we can complain about.

Every musician classical as well MDs of movies knows IR.(North-South-East-West) in India even though he did not do much movies in non-southern languages. Shanai expert Baalesh(I think) when mentioning about Hey Ram song by Ahay Chakraborthi, he mentioned he wanted to bring his daughter to IR to get his blessings. Don't know whether you read that Article.
May be Ustad(or someother Sarangi expert if they exist) once made a statement regarding IR in comparison to ARR. He watched when ARR was with IR troup learning and he told he modernised what he learnt very nicely. He also said however Guru is guru in dealing with Ragas and Sishya is Sishya.(I read it long time back. I think it is Ustad only). But even content is not important. But how they know him to that extent of taking his side so much is surprise to me too.
I know Haripraskash Chaurasia worked with him on classical Albums atleast. He is another guy having very good respect for IR.
These two classical artists, don't know how they have such a high regard for IR even though I did not hear them working with him. Now Vishal mentioning IR itself is a big thing. Sontanu Mitra was acknowledging IR as very great asking Shreya Goshal's experience with IR. He commands a very high respect both in Movie and classical world.

Just to correct what Ustad said or whoever mentioned about the relationship between IR and ARR. There is no guru-sishyan relationship between them. ARR simply played an instrument for Raja like he used to work for many other music directors.
Only difference is, not all instrumentalists turned out to be a successful music director like ARR.

Thank you for sharing the promo. Really looking forward to. Hope Jaya TV give enough notice so we can plan a trip to the live event. I wish the song selections are not going to be repetitive from previous shows. He needs this break to recover from his recent loss.
