Shankers Anniyan Songs

Its surprising how under the pressure of satisfying high profile stars and directors second-tier MDs crumble. Vidyasagar's Chandramukhi was eminently forgattable and certainly not his best album-far from it. Thanks to Rajni, the songs are a hit anyways. And now HJ crumbles under the pressure. The songs might anyways be a hit for sometime because of Vikram/Shankar/Picturization/Publicity. But musically, an opportunity gone waste for HJ. Its only after listening to these so-called biggies by these second-tier MDs you realize even more that IR/ARR belong in a separate league all by themselves, several notches above the rest of TFM. We need the next whiz kid to take TFM by storm pretty soon, or else we would be reduced to listening to our old collections again and again.

When 4 the People audio was released, I thought that the new 'new sound' had arrived. Jassie Gift really has a unique sound... Too bad Jassie Gift is reduced to singing songs for HJ...

iyengaaru veetu azhage is a nice melody... I see shades of hindholam in it... can someone confirm the raaga??

This song could being done even more better but the songs gets lost in anupallavi and charanam
BTW for fellow tfmpagers this song also reminds of 2 songs
one is of old TR song can anyone guess and one is narumugaye of ARR song.
But watchout for Hariharans Brigas ;)

HJ FANS something to cheer up a bit!

Indiaglitz hass a review of Anniyan!

Guys get excited for a while!

Oh well, India glitz is a great site, that never degrades any one or any movie! Always in praise for anything it reviews.
Considering this point, the anniyan review is not exactly a flattering one, so i assume they mean to say its average! Funny thing is that review also points out a few "inspired parts!"

I guess the verdict is equivocal Anniyan album fails!

"Kumari " is surely the best song!

Ironically, when I listened to it and my Bull-S(BS) detector went way up to 200% and it SCREAMED COPIED!!!! After some melodystorming I was able locate the orginal tune!!

Rajasaraam pointed out that it is borrowed from IR and his vocabulary. Nope! It goes way back to 50's -- Alibaba & 40 Theives. The melody is lifted(remixed?!?!) from the cute and beautiful song "Chinnanchiru Chitte.." sung Jiki & Krishnan K C

kumari -nice song,sure hit.
1st interlude reminds me of mohalai song interlude,
n also the table beats.
Kumari (2:23 to 2:45) and mohalai (2:18 - 2:26)
rehash of mohalai??
good selection of singers.
2nd interlude sounds

-much hyped song of jessie gift but he has only small part in this song.
-yet another below average song...maybe shankar should invite deva as guest composer to compose this song.


so far the songs doesn't seem like shankar movie songs.....
maybe the remaining songs will do justice...
