Enakku therindu, Jai & Jaichitra acted in many films under this combination. Besides this pair, Thengai Seenivasan and Shubha also paired.

Ramki, thanks for the rare song Kannazhagil. I can't even remember how long ago it was I heard this song last time. TMS&SJ duets have a unique quality. May be because there are not that many of them, compared to TMS&PS and may be even compared to TMS&LRE.

Why did the VB series abruplty end? Ramki?

My take is the entrance of IR. Devaraj Mohan/SPM and PA who were having Vb as the MD shifted to IR. 1974/5 I think must be the best years for VB in Tamil. 1976 changed his fate and his chances dwindled in Tamil.

Though I am happy that IR got the chance, I miss VB so much and my favorites songs of his are from Malai Sooda Vaa. "yaarukku.." and "Pattuppochigal.." are one of his bests.

As far as i know there are only 2 MSV-SJ duets and both are good in their own style. While 'sollathaan' is a sweet melody, todays pick is a rocking bhangra. If you can bear MSV's hindi, then you will enjoy the song more. SJ , as always, sounds very sweet.
SSS had Rajini,Vijaykumar, Jaiganesh, Latha, Manjula, Vasanthi(?) etc. I remember reading that Vasanthi married an actor (thirumurugan?), her hero in one of her films.

Nice song Sindhu Nadhi Poove. There isn't a genre of music that MSV has not explored. Another nice song from SSS is "idhu unthan veettu kiLithaan" by VJ.

Does anyone know what film "kOdi kAlam gnAnum thEdi" by SJ is from?
