Rajini was a debutant and Kamal was an established actor at that time. [Yes, Rajini exaggerated about Kamal's stature as a superstar at that time, adhu vera vishayam].
So, naturally, obviously, logically, Kamal would have had the influence to influence casting decisions etc..

hamid, whats ur problem? Bala said that kamal(along with kb) STOPPED Rajini from going out of cine world, to himaalayaas ect and NOT about stopping his growth.
