And, in that famous " aani pudungura " scene, Charlie suddenly springs up from underneath. VV is terrified and says, " keezha thodada ". Charlie goes down - now look at VV and his expressions - then he sort of samalichufy and says, " tharaya thodada.... savadikkiraingale nammala ".
The entire theatre was in complete uproar for this scene. After a loooong time, I laughed out madly until i had tears in my eyes.
In that Arjun film, where VV goes to a telephone booth and after that Code number thagararu, he chases Singamuthu with an Aruva . Singamuthu goes helter skelter on the road and Arjun interrupts them. He asks VV, Code number-na ennanu theriyuma ? . VV says, Yov, ennayya neeyum puriyama pesikittu ? Codu number roadu number-lam naan ivantta kaetena.
Now, he gives a pause, (which lifts this simple scene to a higher level) and says, ESTA number naan ivanta kaetana ???

My colleague said it is not panni but பண்டி which is actually a slang for loafer .
Probably hubbers from Madurai and surrounding places would be able to confirm this.

பாம்பாட்டி ஷூட்டிங்குக்கு கொண்டு வந்த பாம்பு பல் பிடுங்கியதுதான் என்று காட்ட தன் கையில் கொத்தவிட்டு சாய்ந்த கதையை நடித்தே காட்டியது, இன்னும் இதுபோன்ற பல காமடிகளை இருவரும் குலுங்க குலுங்க சொல்லியது எல்லாமே இன்னுமொரு படம் எடுக்கத் தேவையான சம்பவங்களைக்கொண்டது.
இது எல்லாவற்றுக்கும் மேலே.....அவர் எம்ஜியார் சிவாஜி பாடல்களைப் பாடுவார் என்பது மட்டுமே நமக்குத்தெரியும். ஆனால் இந்தளவுக்குப் பாடுவார் என்பது கண்டு கேட்டு மகிழ்ந்தே போனேன்.

அதிலும் குறிப்பாக ஒரு பாடல். மண் குடிசை வாசலென்றால் தென்றல் வர மறுத்திடுமா.. என்ற வரிகளைப் பாடிவிட்டு உடனே, கிணுகிணு..கிணுகிணு..கிணுகிணு..என்று அதன் பிஜியெம்மையும்(பின்ன்ணி இசை) சேர்த்து பாடினாரே பார்க்கலாம்!!
எந்த அளவுக்கு அப்பாடல்களையெல்லாம் அக்காலத்தில் ரசித்திருப்பார் என்பது, என்னைப்போல், வல்லியம்மாவைப் போல் சிறுவயதில் பள்ளிவிட்டு வந்ததும் காதுகளைப் பிய்த்து ரேடியோவின் ஸ்பீக்கரில் ஒட்டிவைத்துவிடும் பிரகஸ்பதிகளுக்கு நன்றாகவே புரியும்.

தமிழ் திரையுலகம் வடிவேலுவை ஒரு நல்ல பாடகராகவும் நல்ல குணச்சித்திர நடிகராகவும் பயன் படுத்திக்கொண்டால் அவர் பல உச்சங்களைத் தொடலாம்.

Vadivelu had a bad stint in the past one year I say. For some reason, he lost the role in Padikadhavan with Dhanush (maybe for the same reason that you mentioned :) ) but I thought if he had done that comedy sequence it would have been another winner ! To be honest, I was thinking of Vadivelu while watching the comedy track in Padikadhavan.Quote:
