Song: vaazhkaiye vesham
Film: aarilirundhu 60 varai
Singer: Jayachandran (and jency?)
lyrics: Panju Arunachalam?
Music: iLaiyaraja
One of the best solos by JC, probably the only song he sang for Rajinikanth.
IR starts the song with a solo guitar sound, probably representing the loneliness of the character and slowly brings in other instruments leading to soulful voice of JC.
The 'aariro aariro' part in the middle was acharacteristic of many sad male solos by IR. (uchi vangundheduthu, kaathirundh kaathirundhu etc). In case of female sad solos he himself did the humming part(unnai nambi nethiyile, idhayam pogudhe, ore idam nirandharam) etc .
Compared to other popular singers, JC has sung lesser songs and very few for popular stars like kamal(3-4 songs), Rajini(this solo),
sivaji(2 solos and 'nenjil uLLa kaayamondru' of the 2 ,from rishimoolam is another pickworthy solo)
couple of songs for MGR. Thats it i think. Remaining were for other actors.
He still can sing very well (I Love his kannathil muthamittal song) and wish he had more chances to expose his talents

There are songs you will enjoy for a while and forget later, there are songs you will never like, songs you will listen to but will never go in search of. Only certain songs will live in you forever. For me, this is one of the few songs that i never never get bored of.
Im not sure if its the music or the lyrics or the voices, but whenever the song comes on air or in my CD, I stop what im doing and just concentrate on the song.
When i first started posting in tfmpage, many were unaware of this song. To my surprise, even some hardcore IR fans didnt know about this song. They either never came across this song or the song did not affect them like it did me.
Thanks to ilanagai vaanoli, i was introduced to this song(and other 2 gems from the same film.)
One of the highlights of the song are the lyrics. 'dharmam pesum indha oor uLLadhu
saavum munne erikkum
thaanai aeNi tharum
mele aera vidum
meendum aeNi parikkum'
VM's sarcastic description of the society was new and different.
SPB and VJ excel as usual.
'kaadhal thegangaL' , the other beautiful duet was hosted in POW few months back.
The quality is not great. If you have the song with better quality, send it to me and i will be glad to upload again
Thanks
