Dear Shakthi,
mikka nanRi! I do not know what is going on with Shanthi. It has been quite some time now and she has not called me over for Tamil lessons. I have reason to believe that some of her family members don't want us to meet! :(
oh so sadQuote:

Sometimes I have trouble understanding people when they speak to me in Tamil because they will say something which I cannot understand.

Nothing happened to Shanthi. She is working out of home and is busy. The thing I said earlier about Shanthis family not wanting her to teach me Tamil. I felt that way, because one day when I phoned for Shanthi to find out when we will meet again, her daughter got on the phone with me. When I asked if her mother was there and if I could speak to her, the daughter said in a somewhat snotty tone, "Yeah, but I'm on the phone. Can you call later?" and hung up. I found that to be kind of rude. Maybe her family thought that it seemed odd that I had not contacted Shanthi for such a long time or come to her house for the lessons and here I was or they thought I was  gasp, bothering Shanthi. :(Quote:

That is what happened when I was living with some Hindi speaking people from Fiji for 2 years. I got so immersed in that language that I picked it up to a certain extent! :D I am fairly conversant in Fiji Hindi and also can speak a little bit of Indian Hindi. :)
I hope shanthi will get some time to teach u tamil :)Quote:
