Ramki: It is T.K.Bhagavathi not T.S.Bhagavathi who is a female singer. I think Sivagangai was a drama made into a movie.

Ramki, though PS got only one song in this movie, this is a terrific song. She sang with lot of emtions.
As Raj said, the actor is TK Bagawathi (TK Shanmugam's brother). Kannadasan's favorite singer T S Bagawathi sang kanavu kanden song.
And Veera...bomman was also not a great hit when it was released for first time. I read in many articles. The second, and subsequent releases were running packed houses, it seems.
Thank you all for the inputs and corrections
ramki, i meant that mumbai import heroine in kattumarakaran...
Pick # 81
http://tfmpage.com/stream/songs/azhag_aak.rm
Song: azhagaana sandhangaL
Film: adhu andha kaalam
Singers : KJYesudoss, Vani Jairam
Lyrics: ?
Music : Chandrabose
Chandrabose was the only MD who held his own against the tsunami of 80's , IR.
His songs were not innovative but simply impressive. He gave more importance to mettu and lyrics than instrumentation. Strong backing by AVM and Super* also helped in his survival. 'marumagaL', 'oru malarin payanam','poi mugangaL', 'madhura geetham', 'raasathi rosakiLi' are some of his good albums.
Today's pick is his rare attempt on a classical based song. IT's a piece of cake for veterans like KJY and VJ.
I have no other details on 'adhu andha kaalam'. FM thinks NizhalgaL Ravi and lakshmi might have acted in this film.
As always any more info is highly appreciated.
Ramki,
Lyrics is by VM. The raaga is "valachi".
FM: raagam perellam solli adichu pattaya kiLappureengaLee.. :o
Ramki,
I vaguely remember reading somewhere that "Athu Antha Kaalam" was produced by Valampuri John. The movie either never released or was a flop, and left John broke.
Cool pick. CB does throw in such surprises sometimes.
RC: Ippollaam FM-oda hi-fi sound system-la 'karakara' carnatic recordings thaan oduthaam. PSB speakers azhudhu polambarathaa news.
FM adhu enne 'valaichu'?:)
Thanks for the info NeelD
