Having Jayam Ravi as Vasool Raja could work well. In fact, the writers can say that Vasool and Janaki's son is Jayam Ravi's character in the film while Prabhu will be around to superwise the dude (Or they could come up with excuse for his next of kin, might I suggest, Santhanam?)
This sequel could work VERY WELL, if the writers know what they're doing...
His Voice his flair for comedy are poor... i would prefer Kamal Again... or in young crop Jeeva or Simbu... Not Jeyam Ravi For Sure :P

Almost all young heroes are talented dude..Vishal,Arya,Barath,Jeeva..All are talented n their own way, but the point is that Barath has nothing special about him to sustain him..
Vishal has the dravidian looks and has already built an action hero image..
Arya is a heart throb, acts as well as barath,only downside is his voice modulation..
Jeeva is probably the most talented and daring of the lot, he has okay looks, the best so far in the acting dept and is very willing to try new scripts and change his get up (obviously not in all movies,but atleast once in a while) unlike barath (as A_A already pointed out)..
So I frankly dont see what makes Barath so special that you'd actually feel sad if he doesnt carry on for too long..

Several scenes later, the moneylender is now seen as an older man (gold-framed glasses and sandhana kungumam etc) and is more relaxed and even has some positive assuring words to say to Rajkiran. All this is brought out with very few lines of dialogue but just excellent casting and good direction.
ChEran is the guy I expect a lot from.
