Sify : For the last 10 days, Ilayathalapathy Vijay shot a peppy solo number in and around Mumbai- Pune Highway for his AR Murgadoss directed Thupakki.
Vijay danced to the tunes of Harris Jayaraj with 300 dancers in the background,choreographed by south India’s leading dance master Shobi . The song was picturised atop a 13 bogie train and rails created by art director Sunil Babu.
Ace cameraman Santosh Sivan picturised the song in a different style with camera movement synchronising with Vijay’s dance movement. As per sources, the highlight of this song is going to be Vijay’s dancing.

Behindwoods : Will Thuppakki break Kochadaiyaan's records?
Even before its release, Kochadaiyaan recently broke all the records for having sold at the highest imaginable price to Jaya TV. The satellite rights were recently acquired by Jaya TV that seems to be on an acquiring spree of yet to be released movies. Kochadaiyaan's rates are undisclosed but sources in the know claim that it is very high.
Next in line is Thuppakki and discussions for acquiring the movie is underway. It's highly likely that Jaya TV will lap up the TV rights of Thuppakki as well.
Looks like audio rights grabbed by Gemini Music and satellite rights by Sun tv.

Kalaippuli Thanu confirms that Thuppakki will be a Diwali release. Entire talkie portions shot. 3 more songs remaining. All songs have been composed and recorded. Audio release not before August 15th.

I think Thuppaakki will be the big solo Diwali release. Viswaroopam and Maatran will release before that. Aug and Sep respectively. Ajith's movie with Vishnu will also release late I believe and even if it is ready, Ajith and Vijay will not release their movies together.
And the title Thuppaakki will be apt for a film releasing on Diwali. :)
