I met two of Raja's violinists (one y'day, and another a good friend of mine whom I speak to once in a while)...One Mr. Kannan who plays the indian classical style, and has done many of Raja's solo violin (indian classical) pieces, and Mr. Hemant (a good friend of mine) who is part of V S Narasimhan's "Madras string Quartet" and is a regular in Raja's Orchestra.
Both of them had very good things to say about Raja's working style and his genius.
When I mentioned about the synth dominated songs done by Raja these days, Mr. Kannan said -" The working style till 92 was amazing and its not as good as those days now, bcos of synth's domination".

I just wish Raja throws these synth stuff out and gets back to where his strength lies.

The reason why IR's synth does not sound good is ebcause he implements the synth as instruments like they are meant to initiate the flow of a violin or a flute rather than as sounds that are added to make the song interesting like YSR,HJ and ARR do.

That is primarily why it is not that attractive for IR. But if IR reverts back to this WCM style in his old days...there will be a uproar as only IR can make manually orchestrated songs sound very attractive to the audience.

What is the meaning of "Ek dum jhakaas" ?

btw..Have the CDs been released ?

Ek dum jhakass is the Mumbai slang (tapori language) for 'Excellent'.

I will try and post the telugu trans of dheemi dheemi.. if there are any takers ( i know the song has been already done in telugu).. but just my two cents.

On a side note, i got so nostalgic listening to kaise kahen.. that i vigourously searched for the original from mantri gaari viyyankudu and donwloaded the entire movie just to flavour the BGM and other songs.

Sri Surya Kamal Movies banner is making this film Sunny with Kamalakar in the lead. Kriti is the heroine. Illayaraja is composing the scores for the film.

Abhshek Mohan is directing the film.

Saara yeh Aalam is my current favourite :) with its intricate turns in the melody it surpasses the original at some points. The way the male and female voices mix over in the charanams are awesome.
Male/female both starts to sing something leaving it to the one of them to continue then they both join again to the melody lines.....awesome. I can visualise the rivers joining and unjoining and again joining ufffffffff enough said Iam enjoying this album after a long time :oops:
