Yeah, grouch, same piece. I don't like his usual malayalam excursions but in this movie, he got it right. The usual vapid stuff like dressing in a paai kovanam etc notwithstanding. Manivannan is a reliable foil to bounce off - has been so for gounder and many heroes, too. Here, he plays his part to perfection with the usual mix of deprecation - self and others.
Manivannan and Vivek would be competing in everything.

1. As mentioned earlier, Vivek reuses Sangeetha module in "peepi oodhara vayasula baby-nu peru vechurukkA" - only he delivers a long winded sentence with this phrase while aNNan kept it snappy and short as "sangoodhara vayasyla sangeetha"
2. Some good parts:
Vivek is with some Unknown hero here, whose mother is his sister (Rekha). They call her ratchasi because she insists on getting her son married and walk out of the house only to come back within a few hours: As they enter:
Rekha: kalyanathukku sammadhamna kaalai munna veyyunga illainA pinna vaiyunga
Vivek: appo ipdi naan sidela vechukutta?
Rekha: *(&&)(*, gives the broom treatment
Vivek to his mapla: Enda akkA maadhirye pEsa matraLeda iva :lol:
Rekha: (issues further threats)
Vivek: serial villi maadhiriyE pesuriyE akka neeyi :lol:
He also does the standard, pathetic Sivaji imitation (pon ondru kandEn). Some mokkai about the allegedly beautiful heroine(which is an exaggeration) deserving a salman khan, saarug khan or aamir khan rather than the amjad khan that this hero is.
The thing with Vivek is it always seems to be like an Agarkar spell - a few good deliveries but predominantly long hops. I cant think of a movie where he completely maintains the standards throughout.
Emtan magan, very very under-rated.

Yes, and it is not a comedy track. It is all in-character, one of his best. If Winner, Soonapaana, MTV showcase his ability as a 'comedian', this is something that establishes his acting credentials. That scene where he confronts Nasser for accusing Bharath of stealing - the mix of years of submissiveness bursting out, tempered by the inherent fear, egged on by the new found courage and the realisation of his worth - very effectively done. And to cap it all, the hasty end to the proceedings where he rushes away from the scene because obviously the high provided by the discovery of his mama's momentary slip has washed away - that was a nuance very well captured.Quote:

Absolutely top comedy. I have seen the comedy scenes at least 50 times so far. Never tire of it. In fact I feel rejuvenated each time I watch the scenes.
