Not just Kalayana parisu ..I have a VCD of Comedy collection of Thangavelu ,all greats ..I don't remember the movie names ..I will revisit and let you know ,if you want to check.

He was never irritating - which in itself a good accomplishment.

I have watched kalyAna parisu, alibabavum 40 thirudargaLum, thEn nilavu, galatta kalyAnam , pArthAl pasi theerum.. all his supposedly prime films. Quite unimpressive. I mean the best effort earn a mild smile - at the most.

I have not watched arivaLi - which many say is his very best.

IMO ,The guy (I don't even know his name) who comes in many vadivelu comedies ..one says "Nammooru kaaranunga paassakkara payaluva.. uttu saapuda maattanuva" ..that guy is 100 times better than Junior Paandu Premji :huh:

Oh that guy is pretty good Joe. avarai paththi appuram....now Premji

In one scene in saroja one of the villains' guys is shot.... Premji frantically feels around himself to make sure he wasn't shot. :rotfl:

I mean, that is unimaginably rude and he puts it across with such sincerety that it is too hilarious. We had to pause to laugh.

Intha vishyathula namakkuLla konjam kooda oththu varathu ..Neenga Saroja padaththai aaha oohoo-nu pugazhnthavar ..I found it extremely unfunny and irritating movie.

Inniku suntv-la 'Ponnu veetu kaaran' -nnu Sathyaraj ,Gounder with P.Vasu combination padam pottan .. Though I am also Gounder fan ,gounder comedy in this movie is very much unfunny and irritating in most of the places. do you agree?

I liked both Premji and Shiva equally.

Shiva's "andha cycle'la yErradhukkE bayamA irukku sir" :rotfl: "annanum thambiyum Andhra meals sApida thAn layakku" :rotfl:

Prenji's "yaaru sir andha figureu" :rotfl2:

Premji is definitely not an unfunny comedian.

Joe, yEn indha kolai veRi :lol: Either you like him or don't. No middle grounds. He operates in a very unique wavelength, IMO.

Even I liked Mirchi siva better in those two films. PremG was not bad either. On thangavElu he was really funny in arivaaLi, kalyaanaparisu, thEn nilavu and a pandiyarajan film (manaivi ready?)

As told by him (or VP. I don't remember :oops: ) in an interview:

He is not interested in acting. Only for his brother, he is acting in his films. He is passionate about composing music and is more interested to become a full time music director :mrgreen: He has declined some offers came his way :D

Surulirajan was extremely funny in a scene in Johnny in which he runs into the barber (thinking thats Johnny). And in another movie in which he acts as a night-blind. Vaachu copied those scenes in chinna thambi and of course Gounder made those scenes double hilarious. Otherwise I find him unfunny too.

Ive not observed any double meaning (gavanichu kekka matten, avar scene kku vathaalE I change the channel or do ohter jobs)...
inga hub la solli thaan his dialogues carry more meanings nnu therinjuthu :|
