Actually they(the tamils) did try a peaceful protest for this(all the corruption against them) before the war started. But if i am not wrong the president was super-reluctant and tried to disband them violently. That is where the war started and LTTE got formed to fight for a separate state so that they can govern themselves. Even if the SL government had thrown out everyone there wunt be so much bloodshed. But that they purposely wanted to wipe out the minorities was the main reason why all these happened. Hidden agenda if you ask me.Quote:

Sad end to a brave man - he defied the cowardly predictions by some srilankan ministers that he will escape to thailand or some other country. Fought till the death and it is rare to see such valour in the days of unmanned dromes and cowardly aerial bombardments as means of war. Glory be to his name and hopefully in his ashes Tamils of Srilanka will find peace.
My views on the LTTE and Prabhakaran are radically different from the majority of the posts here.Would like to leave it there at this point of time.
But there is a big lesson for India here:The kind of determination a small island nation has shown to demolish what it perceives to be anti-national is missing here.
We are basically a cowardly country with a majority of people having nothing resembling national pride.A terrorist who has been ordered execution by the supreme court is supposedly in "Q"for that sentence says a 39 year old future prime minister and none from the ass licking media question such an irresponsible statement.
Bangladeshi's are given citizenship and voting rights all to retain power.People questioning this are called communal while it should be a serious concern for all citizen's.
What people fail to understand is that all wrong decisions taken for short term gains will gobble them up in the long run and more importantly hurt the country.
Hope atleast in future leaders, political parties and importantly the people use their brains a bit before passing comments, making decisions and voting.

Cinefan - first of all - SL achieved this 'great victory' - by cluster bombing areas that they very well knew had women and children. Irrespective of LTTE, their track record, I hope no other country takes a leaf out of this book to combat Terrorism. If a country chooses to deal this way - I would rather prefer terrorism than cowardly aerial bombing in my city, my town.
Unfortunately, thats the ubiquitous mantra. Look up to state terror as a great example for us to emulate. Innum Nazis-a mattum dhaan example a kaattala, even they were determined to quell any signs of anti-nationalism! Yeah, national, anti-national, terrorism, podalangai.. ada pongappa....Quote:
