AFAIK thalaivar has never been a good dancer... :)
but what he has done was enough for this particular character in that particular scene...
oorukkulla maariamman festival namma makkal aadra dance pathirukeengala... it would be very much similar ;)

and in that scene when his asking vaasinga saami, the nakkal he shows in his face and his voice modulation is so unique... i don remember anybody delivering it that way...

i agree.. he's not good in dance.. but i liked his effort for thangagale thambigale song in thillu mullu.. very energiatic.. sure it's a spoof (on actors) song.. but he really danced well in the middle..

but some steps are quite funny.. like in poomalai song..

Yeah Rajini is very much challenged in the dancing department but i just can't digest the fact that these jokers (dance masters) were *paid* to do all their crap work. The early and mid-80s dance masters were just unbelievable. Happened to watch "Mella Mella" video from Vaazhkai this weekend... :omg: :puke:

Saw the movie THAPPU THAALANAGAL for the first time today! Have heard a lot of great things about this movie before. Happened to see it only today though. Really awesome movie (slightly realistic and depressing though) - wonderful performances from Rajini and Saritha! 8-)

Must see for Thalaivar fans to see a totally different side of him! :)

neenga solra scene ninaivil illai but thappu thALangaL is Saritha's debut. She played a prostitute in the film. Thalaivar local rowdy, cycle chain fight, ennadA pollAtha vaazhkkai etc. Kamal played a little cameo as a "sait". Groucho and A2A are big fans of this film. I like the film too but haven't seen it recently.
