What abt "Kuyil koovi thuyilezhuppa' by Soolamangalam, a beautiful no. in KB's "Naanal"? Superbly sung. And the other similar style song in "Konjum Salangai" with the great Karukurichi Arunachalam's Nadaswaram providing the ideal fillip. "Orumayudan Ninadhu Thirvuvadi". Very soulfully sung. And she has sung this song too, is it not, "avarkum enakkum uravu kaati" from the KVM no. in "Naalu Veli Nilam". She was more oriented towards proper Carnatic music "katcheris" than background singing, I think.

i was about to Type Kuyil koovi thuyil ezhuppa and yes you typed it then. What a song by SR in Naanal. Veda was yet another MD who used different singers for different situations.. SR for Sowkar was Apt in this song. I think there are 2 versions 1 happy & 1 sad.

Want the audio link for "urukkum theriyadhu" in Madappura, beautiful song. Also "Sirikka" by TMS and Sulamangal Rajalakshmi. The actress seen in "urukkum" song with MGR is, I think, Malini who was also the second heroine in "Bale Pandiya" (Balaji's jodi) and "Then Nilavu" (MNNambiar's wife). How many movies did she act in all? She seems to have disappeared in the early 1960s itself.
