As plum said, CSK is the only team shown loyalty to their winning team.. badri-aa romba athigama bid pannalaum.. paavam eppadi paathalum namma paiyan.. enga povan avan  like previous sessions our team look so weak on paper.
my grouse is we did not get hitter, or a decent local all rounder
Now they retained almost all their players, they can bid for some available decent all rounders tomorrow.
I wish vikki and satish in our team :( is there any kurukku vazhi to get them ? Viikki vanthanna opener+ decent bowler. :D
Sathish and Vignesh - yes, not just them abhinav, arun karthik elloraiyum groom paNNanum. CSk-nu oru team irukkaradhE, ennai porutha varaikkum namma pasangalukku vaaippu vazhanga dhaan. TNCA association has done NSrinavasan a lot of good - bcci president-nu oru periya bizman profile vandhirukku. Idhellaam avaru kadamaingarEn
Satisfied with the team except for the price paid for Badri. Among the other teams, MI and Kochi have played their cards very well.
Vivs,
Gibbs played for DC and not RCB. :)
Me Too Satisfied...
Super Kings – top IPL team in status chart!
Friday, Jan 07 2011
Chennai: The Chennai Super Kings topped among all the Indian Premier League teams in the list of status trends in India on the social network site Facebook.
The Chennai outfit, winners of the 2010 IPL and the Champions League titles, was ranked overall eighth in the list, one better than the Tamil cine superstar Rajinikanth.
Under skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the Super Kings authored a fairytale success story that saw them bounce back from a near-hopeless position in the IPL and go on to win the title.
The Super Kings’ popularity was also due to their consistent performance in the IPL with a record of reaching the final in the inaugural edition in 2008 and then semi-finals in 2009 before annexing the trophy this year.
The Super Kings went one step further by achieving a rare double by winning the Champions League tournament that was held in South Africa.
Topping the status messages list on a global scale was “Hit Me Up” (HMU) while in India, it was the Commonwealth Games followed by the 2010 World Cup football.
“The results reflect the highs and lows of World events that started a global conversaion, new uses of language online and the sharing of popular culture,” a statement from the website said.
Besides the Super Kings, the top-10 list includes popular Tamil film, the Rajinikanth-starrer and blockbuster Endhiran.

Dougie, Hussey, Ashwin, Badri stay with Super Kings
Saturday, Jan 08 2011
Bangalore: Australians Doug Bollinger and Michael Hussey along with Ravichandran Ashwin and Subramaniam Badrinath will remain with the Chennai Super Kings who bought the quartet along with Dwayne Bravo and Wriddhiman Saha at the Indian Premier League players’ auction here on Saturday.
But the familiar and smiling face of Muttaiah Muralitharan will be missing in the Super Kings line-up as the iconic spinner was picked up by debutants Kochi for 1.1 Million US Dollars.
The Super Kings made a valiant effort to retain Muralitharan, but stopped their bid at One Million US dollars while Kochi upped their ante to bag the affable Sri Lankan.
Hussey, the star Aussie middle-order batsman, commanded a bid of 425,000 US dollars as against his base price of 200,000.
The Super Kings picked up Saha and Bravo, the West Indian all-rounder at their respective base price of 100,000 and 200,000 US dollars.
As regards off-spinner Ashwin, the Super Kings went the distance and topped the bid at 850,000 US dollars while Bollinger, the Aussie fast bowler who played a lead role in the team’s double success last year, came in at 700,000 US dollars.
The Super Kings then outbid Kochi to win back middle-order batsman Badrinath for 800,000 as compared to his base price of 100,000.
It may be recalled that the Super Kings retained four players from their winning squad, including skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Murali Vijay and South African all-rounder Albie Morkel.
As per the IPL rules, the franchises could retain only four players and release the others for the auction pool. In the event, the Super Kings were keen to buy back their players.
The retention of the quartet halved the Super Kings’ auction budget to 4.5 Million US dollars and the team still has 1.3 Million US dollars left in the kitty.
Incidentally, the legendary Brian Lara, compatriot Chris Gayle and former India captain Sourav Ganguly remained unsold as there were no bids for them.

Given the fact that we play 9 home games in Chepauk which would be right after the world cup .... Retaining our old players will be extremely helpful.... Esp Ashwin....
