The reason for the drop was he said he did not want to play a cop role that he has already played in films like Saamy.:notworthy:  He doesn't mind doing a cop film as long as it is a new type of movie and role. Now he has decided to do a film instead With A.L Vijay (director of Kireedam, Poi Solla Porom, Madrasapatinam) and this film will have him performing a role that is very difficult. The film is laced with emotions and is touted to be a feel-good family entertainer with two heroines. :notworthy:  This is an example of a smart decision from an actor

Honestly, as much as I like Vikram, one of my biggest qualms is the gap between his movies. In the name of quality versus quantity, he just takes too long in between. I would rather see him churn out 3 to 4 entertainers in a year than wait for 2 years to see a great "quality" movie. This is not Hollywood, and neither is Vikram Rajini to take as much time as he wants. Given his phase of career, I don't think he's being too smart! :(Quote:

Even though Raaavan and Raavanan did not do that well at the box office look at the tremendous efforts Vikram put in to do the film that is something that should be truly appreciated :notworthy: ... I'm sure his next one will hit the top charts of the tamil bo because I got confidence in AL Vijay who has been churning out hits and blockbusters. Out of the new directors he seems to be a promising one :wink:Quote:
