ofcourse kugan, we all r missing suvai. if she gets time to check the net, she will gothrough our postings.
Suja, u can try corn tortilla with salsa. the chips can be made in advance... salsa I'm not sure if homemade ones will refridgerate well...
Onion pakodas can be made in advance...
chaats should be easy too... make the sauces,chips/poori in advance & assemble on the day of the party...or u can ask the guests to mix & match according to their preference... even more easier tht way...
corn chaat, peanut chaat, potato chaa, channa chaat are all easy to make... assemmbling need to be done just before party time...
or maybe something like this...

u r right Selvi... losing the 10 kgs was just a breeze,,, & din't need much effort from my side... But the last few kgs are really hard to lose... Thanks for the encouraging words Selvi...:)
I actully put on too much weight towards the end of pregnancy coz eating of too much sweets after coming to India... & the 'eating sweets after meal' is still continuing... my first goal is to get rid of it... I've already reduced it from 3-4 sweets a day(yes, I was eating tht many sweets..:( ) to hardly 1 a day... these days when I feel like having a sweet, I'll have just a 1/4 or 1/2 of it instead of a whole sweet... I've to stop that too in the next couple of days... Aprom should start regular exercise... hmmm...
K, as Sevi said U r not looking like kushboo in size... longgg way to go to reach her size...;)
My dear friends, I have started a new thread called DIET KITCHEN.
I think we will post all comments, tips, low calorie recipes all in that thread.
Hope every one will agree with me, and post all future discussions in the new thread.
Thanks. Kugan98
Kugan and Dev,
Thanks for your reply. Kugan thanks for the ideas. Will post later what items I came up with. The party is next week. So I do have some time in my hands. No Kugan it is a pakka non-veg party!!. I have a couple of veggie friends coming also. Thanks and will let you know.
Suja
Suja , there are so many items in non-vege section to make starters or appetizers.
Please let us know, Selviem too is an expert in non-vege items.
We will help you.
Thanks. Kugan98
Suja,
kugan and dev gave some ideas. as dev said chat varieties are best. deep fry u have to do at that time. also non grilling u can do. that is not big job. grilling can be done in big lot.
Also for the starters u can make salad. sweet corn nibblets, coloured capsicum (chopped finely), white onion, olives, cucumber, grated radish, grated zucchini, jalpeno, grated low fat cheese, sprouts. this will be filling. if the people are health conscious, then prepare this.
desert u can prepare previous day and cool it. where do u stay. if the climate is cold , plz serve hot it is very nice to drink.
payasam, kheer (carrot, potato kheer which is very healthy)
etc.
frame the menu so that we can help us.
selvi
kugan,
donot tell me that i am very good in non-veg. if there is no restriction (oil) , then i can cook nicely. my hands are tied up, but my family members likes my cooking.
but friends sometimes comments at my cooking.
they will tell my food is like pathya sapadu.
Selviem thanks for all the ideas for Suja.

Selviem, White chili is a type chili cooked with chicken rather than red-meat. I tasted it at a friend's house and she passed along her recipe. She made it using a slow cooker. You can also make it on the stove top. Recipe is as follows
Chicken Chili
1 cup cooked and shredded chicken breast
1 15 oz can of northern beans
1 onion choppend
2-3 jalapenos sliced
2 cloves garlic crusHed
2 tsp cumin seeds
2 cups chicken broth
water 1-2 cups
2 tbsp of country gravy mix(I normally use corn-starch or maida mixed with 1/4 of water. It is mainly a thickening agent)
Cilantro and green onions to garnish.
Can also add 1/2-1 tsp of powdered pepper
Combine all the ingredients and put it in a slow cooker on low for about 4-5 hours.
Serve with shredded cheddar cheese and tortilla chips.
Alternatively you can brow the onions lightly and cook on a large pot for 1 hour on sim. Tastes good.
Try it and let me know.
Regards,
Suja
Suja thanks for the white chicken recipe.
Selviem please try it and tell us how it tastes.
I am cracking my head as to how to turn it into
a vegetarian dish :confused2:

Thanks Suja. Kugan98
Suja, here is another simple chicken wing recipe.
GRILLED CHICKEN WINGS

8 chicken wings prick with a fork

Marinade:

Add a tablespoon of oil into the reserved marinade and brush chicken wings with it.. Grill the chicken wings or barbecue them.
Turn over and baste with remaining marinade frequently. Serve barbecued chicken wings on individual plates with salsa (dipping sauce). and a slice of lime.
