If Rajinikanth does not compensate for his movie's losses, his image will get damaged beyond recognition. That's the problem. His movies are sold on the basis of his over hyped image.
There is an old video of Rajinikanth addressing the students of AVM School. This was sometime during Yejaman days, I guess. In his speech, he said, just like the box office result of movies, the students too should always fall under the two categories only - either successful or average. They should NEVER be called a failure. He did speak out of his heart and that showed how concerned he was in the fate of his movies.

Just saw the timings for OKK here in my place at Rochester. Its going to be screened here only for the weekend and thats it. Hopefully the local distributor out here does better for Uttama Villain. I find it hard to believe that S/O Satyamoorthi, a telugu flick has an almost 3 week run whereas Tamil films don't even get a proper screening. Yennai Arindhal too suffered the same fate . Surely these guys can do better considering its one of the few places that screens tamil flicks in NY state.

With the official postponement, 'Uttama Villain' is likely to have 'Vai Raja Vai' as the only competitor as of now.
