kugan,
nice ragi receipes. all are very tempting. i like raggi puttu very much. i will try one by one and let u know.
selvi
You are right Dev, they sell it as BBQ honey chicken.
Children will love it.
Thanks. Kugan98
Dev, I forgot to mention something.
In the urappu adai if you want more heat,
you can add chillie flakes or birds eye chillie.
Too much of chillie powder will not taste good.
Also you can add 2 tbs of rava, some finely sliced cabbage.
Make the dough a bit softer, dropping consistency,
and fry them in oil as raagi pakoda
Thanks. Kugan 98.
Tomorrow I am making moor kali.
Thanks Selviem, raagi is good for us.
Some people make raagi adai with raagi alone.
I have tried, but it gives a taste like sand feeling.
You have to mix little flour.
Try pannungoh.
Thanks Kugan98.
Selviem I am waiting for your low calorie recipes,
or what you cook in your house.
I know you cook all healthy recipes.
Thanks Selviem. Kugan98
K, thanks for the tips... no more deep fried stuffs for sometime. so no pakodas for me. :)
Din't get to makeing ragi urappu adai today... maybe tomorrow.
Dev, naan cooking mattum thaan.
Eating no no :cry2: :cry2:
Thanks Kugan98
[tscii]Aarthii how are you?
I am posting a detailed recipe for the Mutton In Thick Gravy.
Cook for Subra.
MUTTON IN THICK GRAVY
Ingredients:
1 kg boneless mutton
¼ tsp tumeric powder
1 tbs ginger paste
1 tbs garlic paste
1 tbs curds
1 cup of water more if needed
Salt to taste
50 grms ghee
1 onion chopped
3 tbs onion paste
1 tsp aniseed paste
2 tbs of chillie powder
2 tsp of coriander powder
1 tbs of kas kas paste
250 grms tomato made into puree
Little coriander leaves for garnishing
Little lime juice
For seasonings:
Cinnamon stick, cloves, bay leaf , cardamoms curry leaves.
Method:
Add 1 cup of water and boil the mutton with the tumeric powder, little salt, little ginger , garlic paste and the curds.
When the mutton is cooked remove and keep aside.
You will have little gravy with the mutton.
Heat a thick bottomed pot.
Add in the ghee, add in the seasonings.
Sauté well. Add in the chopped onion and let it become
little brown. Add in the ginger garlic paste.
Stir nicely. Now add in the onion paste, aniseed paste.
Stir well again, now add in the chillie powder, coriander powder,
Keep the flame low and stir well.
Now add in the kas-kas paste and the tomato puree.
Stir well so that all the spices get mixed well.
Add in the boiled mutton with the gravy
Cook on low fire so that all the raw smell goes and the gravy becomes thick. You can see the oil separating in the gravy
Remove and garnish with coriander leaves, and lime juice

Thanks dev, for the nice words.
You know I love dry mutton prettal.
Sardine sambal with chappati
Anchovies pickle
Nasi lemak
Sri Langkan chicken and many more.
I used to wonder how my F.I.Law does not eat anything
when we all enjoyed these things
He would share the same dining table, but would not mind.
Now its going to be a year.
No such aasai for non-vegetarian items now.
The whole family has given up non-veges.
Its truly the Grace of God
Thanks Dev. Kugan98
Suja, I am very happy that every one liked the raagi puttu.
When you have the time try out other raagi recipes.
The mutton will be very nice to have with steaming rice.
Thanks. Kugan98

CHOLA PORI
Ingredients:
1/3 cup pop corn kernels
3 tbs canola oil
1 tbs of butter
Salt to taste
Method:
Take a 3 quart saucepan with a cover.
Add in the oil, butter and salt.
Heat the sauce pan on medium heat.
Now remove the sauce pan and add the corn
kernels in an even layer.
Return the pan to the heat.
The pop corn should begin popping soon.
Once the popping starts, gently shake the pan by
moving it back and forth over the burner.
Try to keep the lid slightly ajar to let the steam from the
pop corn to release.
Once the popping slows to several seconds between pops,
remove the pan from the heat.
Remove the lid and pour the pop corn into a big bowl.
Sprinkle some pepper powder on it for added aroma.
You can even make caramelized pop corn
for the children

Thanks for all the raagi rcipes as well as mutton recipe kuganka.

selvika, how is ur elder son now?
Selvi, hows ur son now?... getting better?...
Yes Dev, we have to use a special variety of corn kernal to make pop corn. You can buy it in the supermarkets.
They sell in packets or cans.
Popcorn, a type of flint corn, has a soft starchy center surrounded by a very hard exterior shell. When popcorn is heated the natural moisture inside the kernal turns to steam that builds up enough pressure for the kernal to explode. When the kernal explodes the white starchy mass that you like to eat forms. All types of corn will pop to some degree, but they won't necessarily have enough starch to turn inside out, or an outside layer that will create enough pressure to explode .
Thanks Kugan98
Oh dear your son is not well.
My little one too threw up 3 times in the night.
The other children are allright if to say any food poisoning.
Whole night kept awake. giving her sips of drinks.
Morning took her to a doctor. She is resting now.
How is your son feeling now?
Give him lots of fulids. Take care Selviem.
Kugan98
Dev, you can make the pop corn even in your pressure cooker.
You have to remove the casket and the weight.
Then follow like doing in the pan.
Thanks. Kugan98
Aarthii thanks for your nice post.
Keep yourself busy, another way of avoiding food.
Thanks. Kugan98

Normally this is cooked in the villages.
Thanks. Kugan98
MOOR KALI
Ingredients:
1 cup rice flour
3 cups moor
Salt to taste
To Season:
½ tsp mustard seeds
1 tbs urad dal
1 tbs channa dal
3 moor milagai cut into pieces
1 tsp oil
Method:
In a non stick pot, mix the flour, salt and the moor.
See that there are no lumps.
Take a small pan , heat the oil.
Add the seasonings, let it splutter.
Pour it over the moor flour mixture.
Heat the non stick pot on a low flame and keep on stirring.
The mixture will thicken and roll up like a ball.
It will be translucent when cooked.
It will stick to your mouth if not properly cooked.
Remove it to a oiled plate. You can scoop and serve,
or cut into cubes and serve.
It goes well with any kulambu.
Note: If you do not have the moor milagai,
You can use dry red chillie.
