Kalaththoor Kannamma : intro movie for Kamal featuring alongside GG and Saavithri, who remained the on and off screen 'parents' and 'promoters' of Kamal till his culmination as a full pledged hero in KB movies!

Sarojadevi was a versatile actress who could act with all front line heroes of her time. She has rendered some unforgettable performances particularly when she paired against Gemini/Sivaji Ganesans! With Gemini Kalyana Parisu, Kairasi, Panama Pasama....With NT Palum Pazhamum, Pagapirivinai, Iruvar Ullam, Pudhiya Paravai....significant movies which helped parade her latent talents of acting rather than just remain a glamour doll!.
A fast paced romantic song in Kairasi with GG

TMS voice to GG : apt choice?
Even as the voices of AMRaja and PBS were perfect matches for GG's voice, some good numbers by TMS were also tried and matched to some extent only! SPB voice was also in line with AMR and PBS. GG being a softy our imagination takes a long time to match TMS voice though films like Sangamam, Aindhu Latcham, Kurathimagan....suited GG.

Deepavali celebrations are on the anvil. Happy occasion in a festive mood with sweets and crackers for external pleasure. But for the internal pleasure of mind...the bench mark deepavali song is always ......from Kalyana Parisu!

Sangamam (1970) directed by Dada mirasi of Pudhiya Paravai fame : GG's unusual double role
Romance was the natural Forte for GG but he also excelled in tear jerking emotional depictions in movies like Kalyana Parisu, Sumai Thaangi, Raamu, Punnagai......Somehow on the histrionics arena like donning duel roles or multiple roles that was the Forte for NT, our GG was a little bit reluctant. He could do so in a fistful of movies like Manampol Mangalyam, Aadipperukku and Sangamam. In Sangamam, he could draw a clear line of difference between look alike brothers. This movie had a visual feast of photography filled with enchanting musical score by TK Ramamoorthy! In TMS modulations GG pleased us with his romantic interludes in the song sequences with KR Vijaya :

Avalukkendru Oru Manam (1971) directed by Sridhar starring GG was again a love triangle, Sridhar's template!
Though the film received mixed reviews, the indisputable feature of this movie is Sridhar brand scintillating songs and their impeccable picturization. To my knowledge, no other tamil movie song till date, enjoyed such a repeated fanfare from lovers at tht time in all india radio and radio ceylon and marriage halls like this movie's iconic and bench mark love theme song 'Unnidaththil Ennaik Koduththaen!'

Salt and Pepper original Kalyana Parisu better than the glossy colouful Avalukkendru Oru Manam (both Sridhar's products with GG): Magic could not be reprised!!
Avalukkendru Oru Manam, though colorful with melodious songs, could not impress in the line of Kalyana Parisu, the black and white blockbuster! One possible reason was ageing factor with star GG who was apparently losing his hero frame with wrinkles on his face in close-ups.

Then Nilavu :GG was consistently the choice by Sridhar for love triangles! In Then nilavu, GG portrayed a jolly young chap paired opposite to Vaijayanthimala, whose dance potential was amazing in this song even as GG limits himself to just lip movements to songs!

Avalukkendru Oru Manam : Good story content but timed out characters!
Same ageing problem was the case with the supporting cast Kanchana, Muthuraman and Bharathi. Musical score, honeyfilled songs and photography were the saving graces of this movie.
