The younger version of Sakthi is to show his volunteerism & sharpness.
volunteerism - Even though his dad is going to get him a bi-cycle he wants to participate in the cost incurred.
sharpness - Its not about hitting the bulls-eye, its the method through which he hits it.
So these 2 strengths follow Sakthi when he turns to become Jilla (whatever it is supposed to mean). His volunteerism is seen throughout with his mentor Shiva & family at the same time his sharpness becomes his middle name during all his avatars - Jilla, Jilla police & Super Police. Nesan sets a track for the character Sakthi on these lines till the end. Sakthi is a multi-dimensional character. It's all about how one personality over shadows the other. His childhood loss pushes him to be faithful with Shiva and yet another loss, this time a child also, provokes him to go against Shiva. Nesan had cleanly handled it with a quite gripping visual narration. Where he stammers is the multi-casting factor. He seems to have given more importance to the aritist more than to their character development. If he stuck to his story - a nice tale - he could have brought out yet another dark gangster drama, giving a large scope for performance for the character Sakthi.
Now a days, audience spend much time taking pictures at the cinema halls, rather than enjoying the film. There itself their half interest is gone and they watch the movie only with the other half interest. Secondly, in this internet, mainly social media, clouded audience, they are exposed to foreign films which they watch quite attentively, but they fail to concentrate on a film from their mother land. Here the other half of entertainment is lost. Now what they do is become zombies and start updating their face books or twitter or whatever, with the same messages for every single film. They do not care about the pain taken by a film maker who had toiled 4 years to come up with a product, and just in less than 3 hours he is skinned, that too for reasons that does not really concern the audience.
A review is a personal take of an individual. A review, at no point of time takes into account an analysis. And all these ratings, verdicts or whatever are the likeness scale and at no point of time care to tell you how they had summed it up to this derivation and what are the criterias that made them come to a concluision called Verdict. Based on these review which are sprouting out at large numbers when a high profile artist film releases, it not wise to judge a whole units hard work.
