raja has written about msv and his own arrival in his 'autobiography' - yaarukku yaar ezhudhuvadhu or nilacharal - i dont remember.
'msv was not having enough chances as he used to have, in the late 70s. i used to think "what a selfish and ungrateful world this is! the man who gave immortal songs does not have a patron, because they have found another winning horse. the same will happen to me too, money being the only deciding factor"..................'
raja was fully aware of the functioning of the cine industry. thats why he kept a distance from the core industry and confined himself to music and nothing but music.
being philosophical is one big hindrance to lead a normal life. there is one 'rendungettaan' phase for every spiritual aspirant. he cant lead a normal life anymore, as he is aware of the futility of the mundane process called life. and the surrender process is not fully complete, so with great reluctance one has to continue with this worldly life also, until providence takes over.
i can only empathise with raja. success or failure has nothing to do with raja anymore. if it is the will of the supreme we may get more great music from him, or else it is not to be so.
