Dear Raghavendra sir, thank you. But, on the contrary, I really envy people like you because I was not able to take part in all the gala events that took place in the 60's during the release of many of NT's memorable films.

Very very sincere and fantastic effort Raghavendra sir. I will try to make it up this week end to go and watch the banner. If possible, I will take my kid also along with me. She will definitely feel glad to have a glimpse at it.

The last two episodes of Singathamizhan Sivaji featuring the hard core, die-hard fan, Mr. Y. G. Mahendra, in Vasanth TV was a treat to all NT fans. He actually represented the opinions, concerns & comments of millions of NT fans through out the world. More than a fan, he was a devotee of Nadigar Thilagam. Some interesting portions from the interview……..

After watching YGP’s “ Kannan Vandhan” play, NT decided to make it as a film (most of us are aware of this). During this period, there lived a famous Barrister who happened to be NT’s acquaintance. NT keenly observed this gentleman and picked up his pipe-smoking style, his body language & his mannerism and utilized it for portraying Barrister Rajinikanth with great panache. After watching the play, NT told YGP, “ YGP, indha character-a nalla panni irukke, aana cinemavula idha endha levelukku kondu pogapporen paru….”. YGP replied, “ Sivaji, un levelukku ennala kondu poga mudiyadhuppa…”


YGM re-called a scene from “ Annayin Aanai “ where Savithri pierces NT’s body with her sharp nails and tears his flesh. NT picks up a towel and slowly wipes off the blood which is oozing from his chest and suddenly turns around and furiously hits Savithri. YGM was so amazed at this and he asked NT, “ eppadinga indha madhiri oru Western style-la panneenga ? “ NT replied, “ aamanda, adhu Western style-dhan “.

NT used to sneak out very often to watch Hollywood films. In one such film, it seems that James Cagney had done a similar scene and he felt that it would be nice to use it for Annayin Aanai (probaby, he was referring to the famous grapefruit scene from the film “ Public Enemy “ starring James Cagney ). YGM also voiced his concern by saying that how nice it would have been had NT starred along with actors like Omar Sheriff in a film directed by the great David Lean. He said, “ ulagame avar nadippa parthu apdiye aadi pootirukkum. – Avardhan ULAGA NADIGAN”.

The programme was filled with many such interesting anecdotes.

It was really a very honest & emotional speech by YGM.

கடந்த ஒரு வாரமாக இந்த திரியில் தங்களின் பங்களிப்பு மெய்சிலிர்க்க வைக்கிறது.இந்த திரியின் ஜாம்பவான்கள் வரிசையில் தாங்களும் சேர்ந்துவிட்டீர்கள்.வாழ்த்துக்கள்.

சென்னை ஸ்டாரில் பகல் காட்சியாக தங்கப்பதக்கம், 7வது நாளான வியாழனன்று (11.3.2010), சற்றேறக்குறைய ரூ.2,000/- (ரூபாய் இரண்டாயிரம்) வசூல் அளித்துள்ளது.

ஆக, பகல் காட்சியிலேயே, தங்கப்பதக்கம், ஒரு வார காலகட்டத்தில் (5.3.2010 முதல் 11.3.2010 வரை), சற்றேறக்குறைய ரூ. 14,600/- (ரூபாய் பதினான்காயிரத்து அறுநூறு) வசூல் கொடுத்துள்ளது. இது ஒரு சிகர சாதனை.

இத்திரைக்காவியத்தைத் திரையிட்டவருக்கு, எல்லாப் பிடிப்புகளும், செலவுகளும் போக, ரூ.3000/-த்துக்கும் மேல் (ரூபாய் மூவாயிரத்துக்கும் மேல்) லாபம் கிடைத்துள்ளது.

தங்கப்பதக்கம் என்றுமே சொக்கத்தங்கம்!!!
