I think this song was very famous than even Etho Megam. 'app' can clarify this :)
எம்மனச பறி கொடுத்து உம்மனசில் இடம் புடிச்சேன் is almost equally awesome song :musicsmile:Quote:

'kOzhi koovuthu' was so rousingly popular as a whole album, with every song getting devoured by people (and devouring them). IMO, there was no question of which was received better between these two or another two - poovE / veeraiyA.Quote:

Personally 'EdhO' was my #1 choice but tea stalls / buses / radio / general public equally accepted EdhO / annE / poovE / veeraiyA. Only pottappuLLa had slightly lower reception, IMO.
I have felt that there is tone shift happening when MV sings the song Poove ilaya poove.
In the pallavi the song goes as POOVE ILAYA POOVE...VARAM THARUM ...VASANTHAME and then goes out of pitch when he sings MALAR....??
I have noticed similar changes when I had the tapes of Sindhu Bahairavi where Chitra sings "Paadarien Padiparien". She sings the first bit, stops and as she she proceeds,I got a similar feel..
Kila kila - SPB and KSC - Coolie NO 1
wat a song. wat a composiiton...
SPB - Excellent Rendition.......
