Ai's another one - Been about 2 years since it started. Now VR-2 depends on this. One more obstacle ... more patience needed!
There have been reports that Kamal Haasan’s much anticipated sequel of Vishwaroopam will be out either on the 2nd or 9th of May. Although the dates were in consideration, we hear Aascar Films, which is bankrolling the magnum opus hasn’t zeroed in on the dates yet.
The ace production company is also producing Shankar’s mega budget Ai, starring Vikram and Amy Jackson in the lead. There is apparently another quick schedule of Ai set to happen soon. We are being informed that the release date of Vishwaroopam 2 will be decided only after Shankar’s movie is wrapped up.
Meanwhile, Vishwaroopam 2 features Kamal Haasan, Pooja Kumar, Rahul Bose, Andrea Jeremiah, Shekar Kapoor and Waheeda Rehman. M Ghibran has scored for the film and Shamdat Sainudeen has wielded the lens.

It is better Kamal Starts the shooting for Utthama Villain asap. If he is going to wait for the release of VR-2, it may affect the projects lined up for him. He can finish 50 to 60% of the work for Utthama Villain by May..

" Yasin also told Riyaz that he had seen the movie Vishwaroopam in March 2013 and said “the film talked about the arrival of Al Qaeda in India, which was going to be true."
Yeah it is quite shocking..
Also I have read a report from former RAW officer that once US withdraws its troops from Afghanistan by the middle of 2014 that will let "Taliban" free & can intrude into india for jihad and Lot of ex.army kernels are talking about the same.
If it is true then our(India/Indian) life is gonna get tough given our Economy imbalance,Blunders in Foreign affairs and on top of it election.
I pary to GOD to give us strength.
Between how KH is able to predict the future? :D
SHOCKING: REAL TERRORISTS DISCUSS ABOUT KAMAL'S VISHWAROOPAM

Shocking: real terrorists discuss about kamal\'s vishwaroopam
Recently National Investigation Agency (NIA) of India has found evidence that operatives of the Indian Mujahideen (Terroirst group) against India. NIA found that both Indian Mujahideen's founder Riyaz and its chief Yasin through Nimbuzz chat messenger.
With the help of Nimbuzz the NIA has found solid evidence of Pakistan's hand in the terrorist attack plan in India. NIA's chargesheet directly accused Pakistan government for providing shelter for abscond accused.
It is also found that Riyaz has met Al-Quaeda leaders in Afghanistan for establishing contact with the Al-Qaeda.
During a chat with Riyaz(founder if Indian Mujahideen), Yasin has told that another terrorist Asadullah Akhtar(Hyderabd blast accused) shown him Kamal Haasan's Vishwaroopam which discussed about Al-Quaeda's arrival to India and now with Riyaz's steps to meet Al-Quaeda leaders, it becomes true.
This news in turn comes a surprise for everyone because even terrorists are discussing about a Tamil movie. Similar to this, Kamal even discussed about Tsunami in Anbe Sivam(2003) and in one scene he has said that Tsunami will hit India, but Madhavan(in the film) refuse to accept Kamal's statement on Tsunami occurrence in India but exactly after one year Tsunami caused heavy damage in 2004.
Seems like Kamal Haasan is the new Nostradamus !
Kamal sir in their RADAR!!

UTHAMA VILLAIN – SPECULATIONS FROM ITS TEASER
By Mithun Sivagurunathan
Ulaga Nayagan Kamal Haasan had always been known for doing things differently. While others up the curiosity element only when they release their trailers and teasers, this man does that right from day one – right from the first look posters, the title font, the cast and crew – everything about his projects raises expectation levels to improbable proportions. Uthama Villain’s posters and first look teaser are no different.
The teaser of Uthama Villain features a masked face, which according to online reports is based on North Kerala’s Theyyam art form. Also known as Theyyattam or Thira, it is ritual kind of worship, with several thousand years of customs and traditions. The people consider the practitioners, generally belonging to the lower class community, of this art form as God – Kamal Haasan’s home ground, where he can score sixes and boundaries, every time and with ease. Even, a poster of the movie seems similar to Michelangelo's fresco painting, The Creation of Adam, which depicts Genesis - an image of near-touching hands of God and Adam. The imitated version, Uthama Villain has an image of near-touching hands of Kamal Haasan (God) and a child (Adam).
Also, the legendary actor’s practice of alternating between big and small movies, between serious and entertainers, in succession, suggests that Uthama Villain, coming after Vishwaroopam, might be a jolly ride. The involvement of Crazy Mohan, who had penned dialogues for classics such as Michael Madana Kama Rajan, Apoorva Sagodharargal, Avvai Shanmughi and Panchathanthiram also suggests the same.
A cult similar to Theyyam is followed in the Tulu Nadu region of Karnataka, in a different name as Bhuta Kola. The involvement of Ramesh Aravind, who has the Kannada roots, and the fact that the team is shooting in Karnataka, suggest that Uthama Villain may probably not be based on Theyyam, but on Bhuta Khola. And, given Kamal Haasan’s interest in experimenting with dialects, emulating Tulu language onscreen is a challenge never attempted before in Tamil Cinema, and only he can pull off.
The title card of Uthama Villain also provides a lot to contemplate on. Uthama is shaped like a bow (villu), and Villain is shaped like a key. The makers probably point to the popular Tamil Nadu art – Villupaattu, a musical story-telling form where narration is interspersed with music. It uses a Villu (bow) that has a long string under tension, and a bunch of keys called veesukols or villadi kol in each of his hands. Thus, indicating that the film might be about the dying art forms!
Well, as Uthama Villain is straight from Kamal Haasan, no one can be sure of anything, until the release of the movie. Let’s speculate as much as possible, and be surprised with something entirely different.
Kamal Haasan gets a super-talented lass for Uthama Villain
Mar 04, 2014
Parvathi got loads of applause for her portrayal as Panimalar in Dhanush’s Maryan. The lady who is known to be very choosy about her roles was not seen in any Tamil movies post Maryan but is said to have been roped in as Kamal’s woman in Uthama Villain which commenced its shoot yesterday, the 3rd of March 2014 at Bangalore.
Parvathy also confirms this and says, “Yes, I am a part of Uthama Villain but I am not in a position to divulge about my role. I am very excited to be doing a film with Kamal sir”.
Ramesh Arvind directs Uthama Villain, Shyam Dutt is the cinematographer while Ghibran is the music composer. The film is expected to be a quickie and would hit the screens this year itself.
Helo Unmai V, there is a separate thread for Utthama Villain, you can post these...
ok CR. thanks
Five different Kamals …
In Tamil film industry director K S Ravikumar enjoys a special place. His films are good commercial entertainers that are enjoyed by the audience. He is the man behind story and dialogues for the most anticipated film of 2014, Kochadaiiyaan. It is also said that the superstar will team up with KS Ravikumar for his next project.
Meanwhile when KSR was recently asked about a very difficult scene that he shot during his more than 2 decade long career, the director admits that it was a scene in Dasavatharam.
He says, “There was a scene which required the presence of five different Kamals- tall, short, one behind, one in the foreground and one walking. These Kamals need to see each other. I had to shoot them separately and then bring them together along with the appropriate backdrops. To add to that, Tsunami effect was also needed”.
Ravikumar adds that the film Dasavatharm, in itself was challenging but is satisfied that he had managed the show effectively.

It’s the time of the year when Padma Awards are being conferred and it becomes extra special as Kamal Haasan received his Padma Bhushan from the President of India this evening – March 31st 2014.
On receiving the award, the legend was touched and shares his feeling about standing among stalwarts. He says that although he is troubled by the present situation of the country, when the national anthem played, he forgot “all the corruption, horse trading, rapes and other misdemeanor of some of his countrymen”
Here is Kamal’s letter
I was once again standing among stalwarts. At the (President’s Residence) Rashtrapathi Bhavan, I thought since I have been there, and done it once, I would not be as moved as I was, the first time. I was in for a surprise. I felt even more emotional this time. Age, I thought, would have brought about the required pragmatism or even skepticism. After all, politicians are also involved in this selection process, but I felt myself moved to tears. I fully believed in my country’s intellectual bounty as I saw stalwarts of various fields rubbing shoulders with me. Champions who were individually moving the country in their respective fields in the right direction forward. As the national Anthem played I once again forgot all the corruption, horse-trading, rapes and other misdemeanors of some of my fellow countrymen. The good parts stood out, the faces of the naïve and honest people who loved this country ran like a movie montage in my mind. I was glad to see my siblings and parents face in that montage. I looked around me, proud to be among champions absolutely humbled by all the talent and achievement they stood for. I once again pledged my commitment to the country and hoped I won’t have to leave it in anger in future. I found myself to be positive. I am proud to be an Indian. It has all to do with Indians and nothing to do with state of Indian politics and politicians.
Some of my heroes were there at Rashtrapathi Bhavan and many more faceless heroes whom I am yet to acquaint myself with are out there doing their duty to the country. Most unsung and some getting a mere recognition or none at all. I mentally saluted those true Indians as my National Anthem came to an end. If someone had read this piece to me before my visit to the Rashtrapathi Bhavan, I would have rated the writing as mushy. But being there is another experience which makes you, sort of sentimental. I guess, that was and is the purpose of these ceremonies.
''Vishwaroopam 2 is not my arrogance, it is my confidence'', Kamal admits
For now lets be content just reading news about VR-2 ..... :)
Padma Bhushan Kamal Haasan is happy and also very emotional at the moment especially after receiving the highest civilian award from the President of India a couple of days back. He shared his feelings with his fellow countrymen through a press statement that talked about the various facets of our nation.
Meanwhile on the professional front, the actor is quite busy with Uttama Villain and also Vishwaroopam 2. Talking about the sequel, Kamal states, “Vishwaroopam 2 will be technically superior and will focus on romance and sentiment too. In a way, it is both a sequel and a prequel”.
Kamal adds that while he conceived the story of Vishwaroopam, he had planned it in 2 parts and avers, “Vishwaroopam 2 is not my arrogance, it is my confidence”.
Vishwaroopam 2 stars Andrea, Pooja Kumar, Waheeda Rahman, Jaideep Ahlawat among others and is produced by Aascar Films.

This pushes out VR-2 by a few more months :(
Might as well not expect it to happen this year ...
We hear only reasons and excuses.
But if we see numbers, we received only 2 films in the last 6 years. (after Dasavatharam)
I am excluding "4 friends" as it was a 5 minutes role and "Unnai pol oruvan" as it is a remake.
A this age - 2 movies in 6 years is extremely painful for fans like me.
No wonder I had to travel to Kerala to watch "4 friends" FDFS... Heights of hunger....
:( :( :( :( :(
Agree he has not been giving much movies.
But we have Uttama Villain and Drishyam to look forward to for now. VR-2 doesnt seem to be happening anytime soon as its linked to the release of 'Ai' which is hopelessly delayed. 'Drishyam' though a remake does look like a great fit to his melodrama and acting that we have not seen for a long time ...
I do not have much hopes with Drishyam. Yes, it is the biggest ever hit in Malayalam. But even that one, though is a remake, is going to take atleast double the time they took for the original. Already talks are there that script is getting modified. That makes me nervous !
Having seen Drishyam (very good btw), aside from nativity changes (Christian family to maybe Iyengar/Iyer family), how much change can you make in the remake? Everything can be done word for word and still won't loose impact.
A Wednesday remake they added technology, still people gave mixed opinion. But Kurthipunal looked and was executed above the dull Hindi original.
i cant understand the hype around Drishyam. ok.. it is good movie but far far inferior to the family drama called Mahanadhi. i feel it will be waste of time and energy for KH to remake it in tamil. it may not work. im eager to eat my words!
I wouldnt call it a hype .. I dont see much of it in the media. Its mainly Kamal fans who are optimistic on seeing him in a role that has a potential to offer a wider scope for some melodrama. I havent seen Drishyam - probably nickraman could attest to that.
Personally I havent been disappointed with Kamal's remakes. Starting from Satya (one of my favorites remade from Arjun) through Kuruthipunal, UPO and others. He decides to remake only upon wholeheartedly appreciating the original.
Pooja Kumar fights for Kamal Haasan …
After getting praised for her work in her comeback Tamil film, Vishwaroopam, actress Pooja Kumar will next be seen in the sequel of Vishwaroopam and Uttama Villain. Talking about the much anticipated Vishwaroopam 2, the actress in a recent interview assures that there’s more action and romance in the film. “You will also see me in an action Avatar in Vishwaroopam 2”, she revealed.
The actress also took the chance to talk about her other film with Kamal Haasan, Uttama Villain. Pooja says she has a lot of scope in the film and is happy that she got to know Andrea, Urvashi and Parvathy Menon. She also hinted that Uttama Villain isn’t just a comedy movie and that there’s more to expect from the film.
http://behindwoods.com/tamil-movies-...a-villain.html
Coming to Drishyam's case, the movie has a small-town backdrop and the family background is christian based. If the Tamil remake goes through by him, they're going to need to add more suspense to the element because most South Indians would've downloaded the DVD-Bluray print with English subtitles. Lalettan IMO underplayed very well (and of his career best in recent times after giving below-par movies.) Why I think many said Kamal would fit the bill for the remake because Cinema plays a big role in the suspense, though we can expect mixed reviews if Kamal does the movie in Tamil (recent example is Prakash Raj's "Un Samayal Arayil" - remade from "Salt N' Pepper".)
If they remake it, they will have to change to Ooty-Coimbatore and maybe family background (original was christian family, so maybe Iyengar family.) Like I said before, they would have to add something new without diluting spirit of original. IMO, Kamal should produce it or leave it like he did with Traffic remake (Chennaiyil Oru Naal) and have Parthipan/Prakash Raj do the main role. Don't want him to waste time in remake projects. Would rather have him start the Amar Hain/Thalaivan Irukindraan venture asap.
And KB already used notepad for original Drishyam, so him heaping praises for remake is out of question (I don't think he's lapped up remakes recently.)
Interesting viewpoint. Now it appears there's a high likelihood that its going to happen. Hopefully they package the movie nicely taking into account all the nuances.
Kamal's important update on Viswaroopam II
Padma Bhushan actor Kamal Haasan used to act in multiple films at a time during the 89's and 90's. However after 'Naygan' which fetched him his second National award for Best Actor, Kamal has become very selective and has been following the practice of concentrating on one film at a time.
In 2014, Kamal moved on to 'Uttama Villain' before completing 'Viswaroopam II' the sequel to his 2013 blockbuster flick. V 2 is being directed and produced by the veteran actor himself, UV is being produced by Thirrupathi brother on first copy basis and directed by Ramesh Aravind.
While the shoot of 'Uttama Villain' is more than 50% complete, it has been a long time since we received any official word about the status of Viswaroopam 2. Sensing the yearning of millions of his fans, the 'Ulaga Nayagan' has revealed in a recent interview that the post production of the VIswaroopam II is nearing completion.
Meanwhile reliable sources reveal that the shoot of 'Uttama Villain' will be completed within a month.

‘Marudhanayagam can be revived any time’
Actor Kamal Haasan responds to queries posted to him via our twitter account
Iconic actor and film-maker Kamal Haasan, who spoke to The Hindu about his visit to the Cannes Film Festival last month as part of a trade delegation in a wide-ranging interview, took some questions asked by our readers through our Twitter handle @ChennaiConnect.
Following are some of the questions and the answers given by Mr. Haasan.
From Anand Sethuraman (@AnandTheJamist): Will Kamal ever write a book on cinema?
Answer: Yes. Mr. Hariharan is having a conversation with me. It’s not about my life, but it is about how I learnt the craft and my influences. It’s not about my joys, pleasures and ailments. (Mr. Hariharan is a noted film-maker.)
Q from @_MithSi: Why is Kamal Haasan drawn towards duality? All his movies have references to it – example Uttama Villain or Appu Raja.
A: He has to listen to Adi Shankara more. Within all this duality, you can find advaita. When you say, I am a person, you are so many other persons too.
Q from @shankar2492 and @BeingRuk: When will Marudhanayagam be made?
A: Even I want to know when it will happen. Unfortunately, I won’t get the budget from local producers here. It is not a local film, but a film to be made in three languages — Tamil, French and English. But, it can be revived any moment.
Q from many readers: When will Vishwaroopam 2 and Uttama Villain release?
A: For the first time in 20 years, I have two films almost ready to release at the same time. The post-production work in Vishwaroopam 2 is nearing completion.
Q from @_alan_j_s: Do you have any plans to remake ‘Rathakaneer’, the yesteryear classic?
A: The disease has changed — so may be with different disease. That disease is now curable. So, perhaps Rathakaneer with AIDS?
Q from many readers: What happened to your project with Hollywood producer Barry Osbourne?
A: We are going slow for now. I am busy with my projects. But it will happen in course of time.
