I love listening to IR's preludes and interludes. So I put together a *rather crude* mix of some preludes and interludes from some selected songs (in a few hours using audacity and some poor quality mp3s!). Check it out:

I wonder if this kind of thing is worth putting more time and effort into. Feedback (both technical and non-technical) is welcome.

Interesting! Just wish the transitions were smoother (also wish the music itself a li'l slower). Probably you can include BGM's as well and think of a symphonic architecture overall (e.g. adagio first, allegro later). Then you may have a creative product!

Thanks! One reason for the discontinuity was the quality of the mp3s. The mixes with different interludes of the same song are smoother than with other songs. I also had to adjust the tempo of the parts to try to keep it uniform. Will try better next time.

Thats a great idea! It will require listening to a LOT of BGMs and a lot of planning. lets see...

A very good idea indeed! by selecting songs of similar themes and orchestrations you can get a better musical structure rather than selecting ludes randomly... :)

Except in a couple of places, they got glued together nicely and jell...Though some of these I haven't heard before, they still have the rAja muththirai...

I had tried to keep the rhythm measure and tempo uniform, but I see you have mixed 8 beat and 6 beat songs.
