Desperate Simran
By Moviebuzz | Tuesday, 04 April , 2006, 09:33
Simran the ex-glamour queen and ‘numero uno’ actress of Kollywood is in Chennai for the last one month with her husband Deepak Bagga and son. She has been making the rounds meeting producers and directors as she is desperate to make a comeback to the Tamil screen.
But the fact is that no one is interested to cast her! The actress fails to realize that as far as Tamil heroines are concerned they are dead ducks once you are married and this holds good for Simran too. The main reason why all big stars and directors are avoiding Simran is that she had ignored everyone during her wedding and did not even bother to hold any reception in Chennai after her marriage.
And now after having a baby she has resurfaced in Chennai and not only want to be paired with top actors but wants her husband Deepak to do an important role in the film! As a leading director remarked: “She has put on weight. Now she has to forget her dreams of being paired with superstars and do roles that will suit her maturity”.
The latest we hear is that she was recently approached by a lady director to do “an author backed role” and Simran jumped at it, but when it was made clear that she had to produce it, the actress silently made a retreat!
And last week Simran met Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa and decided to campaign for AIADMK. She is now planning to go on a 20-day whirlwind campaign for the party in rural Tamilnadu though she does not figure in the voters list! The actress hopes that all this will get her a role in films!

Campaign charts ready. Simran to gather votes for Amma.
April 04, 2006
It is an acknowledged fact that heroines have a limited shelf life. When the transition from sizzling siren to doting mom happens, they have limited choices. To either bid adieu to films or be happy with with 'anni' or 'akka' roles to younger heroes. Simran's fate is no different. At the peak of her career, the leading lady of Tamil cimena chose family life over films. After marriage and motherhood, Simran turned her sights towards Kollywood again but to no avail. Rumours say that it is partly because the actress laid too many conditions every time she was approached with a script.
So what's next after films? Politics naturally. Simran went to meet Amma with husand Deepak and son Adhweep in tow, on Saturday, and expressed her willingness to campaign for the AIADMK.
Her political itinerary is being charted out and the first leg of her campaign is scheduled to kick off on April 10th. The pretty actress will soon be seen at all 'patti and thotti' in the rural districts, gathering votes for Amma.
On day, two B'day
IndiaGlitz [Tuesday, April 04, 2006]
It is one of the rare days.
Two names in the film industry sharing the birthday on the same day is something that doesn't happen often.
But today is one such day. Simran and Shaam are the 'birthday babies'today.
The two of them are in different stages of their career and they deserve to have a wonderful birthday.
We at Indiaglitz wish them just that.
