Nadigar Thilagam Sivaji Ganesan - Part 7

I am a great fan of NT....and I joined this forum to discuss about him and legends. Unfortunately I cannot read most of the posts as they are in Tamil. I am a foreigner of Tamil descent and I am really disappointed. :((

Dear Karthikka,
From your user name I guess 2 things primarily:
1. You are very young around 30.
2. You must be a male
(though male or female does not matter, it is useful to address you with respect).

Many of the hubbers do write in English and they are well versed, you can refer the postings of seniors like Murali Sir, Pammalar Sir, Saradha Madam (she is very well versed in English but prefers Tamil, I presume). It all depends on the context which demands the usage of vocabulary. Any way we shall try to present in both English and Tamiz.

Welcome to the hub and we are extremely delighted to see more and more youngsters becoming fan of Nadigar Thilagam, which clearly indicates his prowess and capacity to attract all the future generations.

Pls express what you want to in your own style and language.

Welcome Karthikka. Have a great stay here. We understand that there are people like you who have problems to read if we write it in Tamil. But as Raghavender Sir pointed out, there are certain things like reviwing a movie or explaining an event that happened, Tamil language adds liveliness to the write up. Whenever it is required we use English. In fact if you check the first 4 parts of NT thread, most of it was in English.

Great post about Ratha Pasam. This was one film that was widely expected by the fans. As Saradha pointed out, the first 20-30 mins before the titles would be so racy and it increased our expectations. In fact we people watching the opening show on 14th June of 1980 at Madurai Sivam felt that it is going to turn out into another Thirisoolam as for as the BO is concerned. But from there on the script began to wander and after some time it lost direction.

This was precisely the reason for the fall out that happened between Vijayan and NT or let's say Vijayan and VC Shanmugam. The differences started when the film was being shot abroad and the rift became wider when shooting resumed in India. Vijayan landed himself in more trouble when news came to Annai Illam that Vijayan was boasting that he was the architect of Thirisoolam's success and that sealed the matter. It was NT who launched Vijayan as a director in Kaaval Deivam and again it was NT who gave him a prominent role as an actor in Sivandha Man. Years later, when Vijayan was still languishing in the field, it was NT who asked Balajee to fix him up for Deepam as well as asking him to wield the megaphone for Annan Oru Kovil. Vijayan after Ratha Paasam tried many tricks but could not succeed. He realised his mistake and repented for the same. NT the ever magnanimous soul he is, accepted and made Vijayan the director of Ananda Kanneer, a Sivaji Productions venture.

ரத்த பாசம் படத்தைப் பற்றிய மினி விமர்சனம் அருமை. மெல்லிசை மன்னர் அருமையான பாடல்களை கொடுத்த படம் இது. 80-களில் டி.எம்.எஸ். சுசீலா படிய மிக சிறந்த பாடலே என் உள்ளம் என்கின்ற வானத்திலே பாடல்தான்.

வெகு பல நாட்களுக்கு பின் இருவர் உள்ளம் படத்திலிருந்து இதய வீணை தூங்கும் போது பாட முடியுமா பாடல் காட்சி இன்று ஜெயா தொலைக்காட்சியில் காண வாய்ப்பு கிடைத்தது. இந்த படம் மட்டும் இப்போது அரங்குகளில் திரையிடப்பட்டால்? ஆஹா!

YGM wears a chain that has Sivaji dollar in it. This was presented to him by Prabhu in a Sivaji function after NT's demise. Actually NT's wife Late Kamala Ammal played a big part in this presentation. On the day of the function, she gave Prabhu a chain with NT dollar and asked him to present it to her son YGM. Prabhu fulfilled his mother's desire. Even recently in a TV chat (Jaya TV 'Thirumbippaarkiraen'), YGM emotionally recalled this happening.

Hearty welcome to our beloved 'annan NT' thread. Happy to know you are a serious fan of NT.

Sorry to know that you are not able to read many of our posts, which are posted in Tamil. As Murali pointed out, if we write in Tamil, we can able to show our full enthu and feelings, and can correctly point out what we want to mention. Thatswhy we prefer Tamil posts.

But for the desire of many fans like you, we will try to present more posts in English in future.

We all will be more happy for your continous participation in our thread. Thanks again.
