ABSOLUTELY waste of time and effort prasad, in my opinion. ITS DONE MECHANICALLY with no lil shrdha or thoughts or devotion and not followed up as nitha upa karma to do gayathri.

Those rituals were of use when certain ppl were following few rules, now that no rules are followed its waste of time, effort and money to show off signs that one belongs to a particular caste.

(Again all these in respect to modern times)

If, there are few ppl, who would do justice by being and with least effort STRIVING towards being what is asked upon from him, then these rituals are justified to a minimum extent (as much as its followed)

(all these hold good for people who proceed religiously, sadly its NOT DONE religiously and NOT SUSTAINED religoiusly)

Jesus was definitely not an andhanan he was even beyond a brahmaNan (who seeks brahman or truth)

IT is indeed sad prasad, குறிக்கோளை மறந்து, கூறியவற்றை விடாது கடைபிடித்து, இதுவே சாஸ்திரம், இது தான் உயர்வுக்கு வழி என்று ஒன்றும் புரியாமலே அதை ஒப்பித்து வருகிறோம்.

We do not find logic, as we have lost the root of the tree. We do not understand why the tree persists and where it leads.
We simply hold on clumsily to its leaves (on intermittent occasions) and claim, WE KNOW THE WAY to truth.

I am new here.. I have been reading this forum for a long time... but never intended to post ..

this whole forum is really good. very informative... thanks to all... special tks to shakthi praba.

even i always think about all the small small things that we follow inthe name of sastram... etc.. and try to find out some logical or scientific explanation.. some times i can figure out .. many times not.. I think somewhere somehow we have lost a lot of things..

now, many of us dont bother why we are asked to do some rituals.. (ammanukku elumicham pazha vilakku podu.. puthukku paal oothu... thengai vilakethu... etc...)we just do it saying "it is good for our life" "ella kashtamum theerndhudum" .

உமாவின் பேச்சும் புரிதலும் அஷோக் மனநிலைக்கு சிறிதே ஒத்து இருப்பதால், இருவரும் அளவளாவ ஏதுவாகிறது. இராமகிருஷ்ணரின் கதையொன்றை சிலாகித்து இருவரும் பேசிக்கொண்டிருக்கின்றனர். செல்வத்தையும் மண்ணையும் ஒன்றாக பாவிக்கும் ஞானியரின் போக்கில் தனக்கு ஒப்புமை இல்லை என வாதம் வைக்கிறாள். "எதுவுமே வேண்டாம் என ஒதுக்கி வைத்தல் அல்லது ஒதுங்கி போதல்" சரியான முடிவா என்றால், இறைத்தன்மை தேடலுக்கு பல வழிகள், நெறிகள், முறைகள், வகுத்திருக்கின்றது. அதில் அவரவர் தன்மைக்கேற்ப தன் வழியை ஒரு மனிதன் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கிறான். ஒருவன் செல்லும் பாதை, அவன் மார்க்கம் மற்றோருக்கு ஏற்றதாக இல்லாமல் இருப்பதே இயற்கை. அவரவர் தம் பாதையை தேர்ந்தெடுப்பதால் ஒருவர்க்கு விதிக்கப்பட்ட அறங்கள் மற்றோனுக்கு பொருந்தாது என்பது எதிர்வாதம்.

ஞானியின் மனநிலைக்கு ஏற்ப விதிக்கப்பட்ட வழி இல்லற தர்மத்தை கடைபிடிப்போனுக்கு சரியாய் இராது. மேலும், பல படிகள் கடந்தே ஒருவன் எளிதில் வாய்க்காத ஞானியின் அல்லது யோகியின் மனநிலையை அடைகிறான். ஞானியின் / யோகியின் மனநிலை, காண்போர்க்கு இயல்பில்லாமல் தோன்றுவதால், பொதுவான மனவோட்டங்களுக்கு அவர்கள் செயல் அப்பாற்பட்டு வித்தியாசப்பட்டு இருப்பதால் அவர்களை ஏளனமாய்ப் பார்க்கத் துவங்கிறது உலகம். அவர்கள் மஹான் என்று நிரூபிக்க நம்மை பொருத்த வரை, சித்திகள் / அதிசயங்கள் குறைந்த பட்சம் நோய் குணப்படுத்துதல் மற்றோரின் மன ஷாந்திக்கு வழி வகுத்தல் என மாயா வேலைகள் செய்தால் உண்டு.

அஷோக் இராமகிருஷ்ணரின் இக்கதையில் ஒன்றிவிடுகிறான். எப்பேற்பட்ட மஹான் அவர் என்று உயர்த்திப்பேசுகிறான். அடுத்து அவனிடம் ஒப்படைக்ப்பட்ட பெரும் பணத்தைக் கொண்டு அவன் மனநிலையை சோதிக்கிறான். ஒரு கையில் மண்ணும் மறு கையில் பொன்னும்(பணமும்). காற்றில் அத்தனைப் பணத்தையும் உதறி விட்டு வீடு திரும்பும் அவனை, ஊரார் கேலி பேசுகின்றனர், உற்றார் மனம் வெம்பி வாடுகின்றனர்.

இதற்கிடையில் அஷோக்-கின் மன நிலைக்கு பாகவதரே காரணம் என்று கோபமாய் வருத்தமாய் நீலகண்டன் பாகவதரைச் சாட, அவர் மிகுந்த மனவருத்தத்துடன், எனினும் அவர்களை கோபித்து தூஷிக்காமல், நாதன் குடும்பத்தை விட்டு விலகிவிடுகிறார்.

எல்லோரும் பேசும், கேட்கும், யோசிக்கும் ஒரு அருமையான கேள்வி பாகவதரைப் பற்றி (இவர் போன்றோரைப் பற்றி) தயாரிப்பாளர் கேட்கிறார்.

"இவ்வளவு விஷயங்கள் தெரிந்த ஒருவர், நூல்கள் அறிந்த ஒருவர், இறைவனைத் துதிக்கும் ஒரு மேலான மனிதர் தெளிவான சிந்தையற்று துக்கத்தில் அரற்றுகிறாரே? அவர் ஞானி என்றல்லவா நாம் நினைத்திருக்கிறோம்!? அவரும் சாதாரணப் பிரஜை தானோ?"

இக்கேள்வி நம்மில் பலரிடம் எழுவது இயல்பு. சாஸ்திரம் தெரிந்த ஒருவனோ அல்லது நல்ல குணம் படைத்த ஒருவரோ, ஞானி ஆகிவிடுகிறார்கள் என தவறான மனக்கணக்கு போட்டுவிடுகிறோம். முன்பு கண்டது போல் இறைவனாக அவதரித்த ராமனுக்கே துக்கமும், சலனமும் குழப்பமும் என்றால், சாதாரண மனிதர்கள் எம்மாத்திரம்!

ஞானியின் மனநிலை, யோகியின் மனநிலை, லக்ஷத்தில் ஒருவனுக்கு அமைந்தால் அரிது. இரண்டு அல்லது மூன்று நிமிட மாத்திரைகளுக்கு நம் மனம் நிச்சலமற்றி இருப்பதாலேயே நாமோ அல்லது இன்னொருவனோ ஞானி ஆகிவிட முடியாது. அப்பாதையில் நம் மனம் செல்வதாலேயே நாம் முழுமை பெற்றுவிடுவதில்லை. அதற்கென சில லக்ஷணங்கள் உண்டு. நல்ல புத்தங்கள் படிப்பதாலும், பக்தியினாலோ, சாஸ்திர சம்பிரதாயங்களில் மூழ்குவதாலோ, பிரம்மத்தைப் பற்றி படித்து உணர்வதாலோ, தனக்குத் தானே, ஒருவன் ஞானியாகிவிட்டதாய் அவனே நினைத்துக்கொள்வதாலோ அவன் ஞானி ஆகிவிடுவதில்லை. வெகு சிரத்தையாக சலமின்றி முழு நாழிகைகளும் யோக நியமங்களை கடைபிடிப்பத்தாலும் கூட ஒருவன் ஞானி
ஆகிவிடுவதில்லை. இத்துடன் சேர்ந்து இறை அருளும் இருந்தால் மட்டுமே, அவன் பூரண ஞானியாக ஜொலிக்கிறான். அப்படிப்பட்டவன் பிறப்பதோ, அவனை நாம் கண்டுக் கொள்வதோ மிகவும் அரிது.

ஞானியின் நிலை இறுதி நிலைக்கு அருகேயுள்ளது. "ஞானி" என்ற சொல்லை வெகு சுலபமாக, அடிக்கடி இன்றைக்கு பலர் உபயோகப்படுத்தி வருகின்றனர். சொற்களின் தன்மை குணம் அறியாமல் பயன்படுத்துவதால் சில சொற்கள் தங்கள் பெருமையை இழக்கிறது. உயர்ந்த சொல்லில் ஒன்றாகிய "ஞானி" இன்றைக்கு பலரால் தவறாகப் புரிந்துகொள்ளப்படுகிறது.
