Director Vikraman who is known for his hit family films such as Pudhu Vasantham, Poove Unakaaga, Suryavamsam etc, is all set to commence his next film which is being produced by K.S.Rajan of Mercury Creations. The movie being titled Ilamai Naatkal will be a bi-lingual shot in Tamil and Telugu simultaneously, and the cast entirely comprises of new faces. As the title suggests, the film will be about 12th standard students, their various experiences with love, friendship and several other emotions in their young days.
The cinematographer for this film is Krishnamurthy aka Kicha who has earlier worked in films like Gummalam and Kandhakottai. The music will be tuned by new comer Balraj who has worked as a key board player with several popular music directors and the rest of the crew will also comprise of debutants and auditions are underway to finalize them. The shooting will commence by the end of April in Chennai and the team will then move to Delhi, Taj Mahal, Punjab, Chandigarh and Jaisalmar for canning many more scenes. Songs are to be shot in exotic locales in Norway and Ice Land and the movie will release in both Tamil and Telugu during the month of September.

Sun Pictures chief arrested..
Chief executive officer of Sun Pictures, Hansraj Saxena, was on Sunday arrested by Chennai City Police on cheating charges based on a complaint by a film distributor over a dispute on Vishal-starrer 'Theeratha Vilayattu Pillai'.
According to T S Selvaraj of Kanda Films, he paid Rs 1.25 crore to Sun Pictures for distributing 'Theeratha Vilayattu PIllai'. However, the movie did not do well at the box office and Kanda Films faced huge losses.
When Selvaraj asked Sun Pictures to repay him Rs 82.5 lakh, he was threatned with dire consequences. Based on his complaint, the Police arrested Saxena in the Chennai airport on Sunday when he returned from Hyderabad.
Last year, a complaint was registered against Saxena for damage of a Chennai-based hotel. When journalists on Sunday asked Chennai City Police Commissioner J K Tripathy about this, he said the case was pending before court.

CHARAN IN DIRE STRAITS?
The producer is allegedly in financial trouble post the failure of Aaranya Kaandam
His film might have received critical acclaim, but its failure at the BO seems to have landed producer S P Charan in difficulty. If sources are to be believed, Charan — in a bid to clear his debts post Aaranya Kaandam’s (AK) debacle — has now been forced to put his family’s renowned studio in Saligramam on sale.
“Financially, he’s in a bad state now,” says a source, “He went around promoting AK to the hilt before its release. Though the film has been appreciated by critics and discerning audiences, it has bombed at the theatres, resulting in losses. To clear the debts caused by this and his previous losses, he has sent out feelers in the market about his property being on sale.” This comes at a time when the filmi market is already floating with rumours that the producer-singer plans to sell his house.
The other version of the story is that the studio was sold some time ago. “The recording studio was sold off more than a year ago because of some litigation in the family and not because of the response for Aaranya Kaandam,” says another source, “Perhaps they are selling off the land now. The problem for Charan arose because he bit off more than he could chew and was unable to concentrate on one project. That’s what landed him in trouble.”
When CT contacted Aaranya Kaandam director Thiagarajan Kumararaja about Charan’s reported financial crisis, he declined to comment on the issue.
Meanwhile, considering the current situation, it looks like the next film from Charan’s production house will not kickstart in the near future. “Actually, he was to do a film with Rajamohan, the director who helmed his Kunguma Poovum Konjum Puravum, but looks like it’s not going to happen,” adds the source.
CHARAN CLARIFIES...
When CT contacted S P Charan, he said, “I’m not happy with the response that Aaranya Kaandam has received at the box office.” When asked him about the studio in Saligramam, he said, “No, it’s not up for sale. We’re just developing the property and not selling it.”

Sathurangam gets a new lease of life
Karu Palaniappan’s long delayed Sathurangam is finally getting released in October.
The film has Srikanth in the lead along playing the role of a crusader journalist Thirupathisamy, with Sonia Aggarwal in the female lead.
It was actually Karu’s second film with good music by Vidyasagar and the audio was released in 2004.
The original producer had financial problems, which virtually stopped its release.
Now the latest we hear is that the film will have a theatrical release, seven years after the first copy was ready.
Let us hope with all the release hiccups Sathurangam makes it to the theatres at the earliest.

Arya signs Saravanan’s film

At the moment the hottest director in Kollywood is Saravanan after AR Murgadoss produced Engeyum Eppothum, turned out to be a sleeper hit.
Saravanan, the former assistant of Murgadoss has been flooded with offers and big heroes have been calling him up and hinting that their dates are available for him.
Saravanan narrated an action one-liner to Arya, who immediately agreed to do the film and Lingusamy and his Tirupathi Brothers will produce it.
The film will be Arya’s next project after he completes Vettai and will start rolling in December.

Reema Sen has done it again.
She has gone and signed a Tamil film with a newcomer Bhaskaran, to be directed by debutant Rajkumar !
This is not the first time that Reema has surprised us by signing a film with a debutant, as seven years back she did Chellamay with Vishal, then a rank newcomer?
Reema’s last release in Tamil was Aayirathil Oruvan in January 2010. She has not signed a single film in Tamil even though half a dozen offers came her way, including the request from her good friend Dharani to do an item number in Osthi.
The untitled Tamil film produced by Blue Ocean Pictures and directed by Rajkumar a former assistant of AR Murgadoss has ‘A’ list of technicians.
It will have music by GV Prakash, camera by Boopathy and editor is Antony.
Bhaskaran the new hero will do a photo shoot with Reema in the first week of November and the film an action thriller will start rolling immediately and is likely to be over in a months time.
