Interestingly- Malinga, Pollard and Tendulkar all have history of (coincidentally) not performing in major finals. Remember the Inagural Champions League where Pollard sizzled all through but fizzled out in the Finals? Ofcourse, he did well in IPL finals last year but was not enough to take the team through.
Malinga - WC Final 2011(what about 2007?) - again took two wickets but could not make a break through match winning performance.
I dont remember Symonds making a major match winning performance in Finals either.

This year is going to be very tough. Making the semi's will be an uphill task. Tendulkar should use Rohit and Symonds for bowling. I don't want to talk any more of Bhajji it's useless. Malinga is over used, poor guy.

Seriously +1 to both the stmts, LM. Bhajji should take a break from playing cricket and do something to re invent his bowling.
As poor as Bhajji is, lot of blame goes to selectors and team management(india and mumbai indians) for letting him hold on to the myth that firing at pads, scoring a few runs when the likes of new zealand bowl at him, and an occasional five-for make him the irrepleacable #1 spinner in the country. The day he is jettisoned with a clear message "you are a strike bowler. No wickets means even 3 centuries and economy rate of 4 cannot keep you in the team", that is when he will improve his bowling.
I think bringing a bowler in place of a batsman might help a little. But the major problem is that the team doesnt have any other wicket taking bowler apart from malinga who is gonna shortly leave for england. So it all depends on the batting to come good in most of the matches. It would help a little if harbhajan finds his wicket taking ways again (though very unlikely). Otherwise it is gonna be a very tough road ahead for the side....Very happy to see sachin get a t20 ton at last.....not his best though....but not his worst either
