Favorite Scenes/Songs from THALAIVAR Rajini films #3

Am still figuring out how they shot the Rajavukku Raaja song. Pretty nifty stuff back then.

Did we have discussion on which one is the best? This or the original?I vaguely remember Amitji's original, but Rajini captured the innocent part well, I suppose.

Reg discussion.. i think we have to bring in PR or Plum for that.. Amit-ji padamellaam athikam paarthathilla.. have seen Deewar.. thats the only amit film I have seen at that period...

IIRC, Vinod Mehra was better than the dude who played Raja in thamizh. Adhai thaviRa sanjeev kumar, Pachan ellAm very very inferior to the thamizh actors.

padikkAthavan is undoubtedly one of thalaivar's best. Comedy, sentiments etc. ellAm rembbba natural-aa varum thalaivarukku. Favorite scenes:

* inglis dhora elijibeth maadhiri iruppEn :rotfl3:
* the scene in which he demolishes *lakshmi*
* comic interludes with Ambika
* the scene in which he gives all the money, to the last penny to his birrathar.
* oora therinjikittEn, of course

I am a sucker for the sentiment scenes in padikkadhavan more than the comic ones.

Khuddar stands no comparison at all. Pachan is decidedly inferior. Prabhu Ram vandhu Sanjeev Kumar was better than NT-nu solluvAru - namma lynch paNNiralAm avarai :-)
(For me, ambika is an irritant. But as I said before, enga aNNan periyaNNan generation(adhavadhu grouch generation:-) -ku avanga kanavukanni so I keep my mouth shut)

How much a superstar is needed for this kind of movie is proven in the telugu version with, IIRC, blank face Shoban Babu

Indha mAdhiri ellAm vera comedy panrAngala namma forumla. The only actor who is better than NT is, NT himself. Whether you liked his way of acting or not you have to accept this fact if you can identify the human emotions period.

Traditionally Tamil Cinema actors have been the best in Indian Cinema. Padikkathavan is definitely one of my favorite movies of super star.

Oops, I was just kidding about PR. I just remembered that he didnt like NT's padikkAdhavan performance, that is all.

Ok. Even 10% effort from NT would be better than 100% effort of Sanjeev Kumar.
