SP and Friends...I am not here rushing to defend the socio political views of MRR.....In fact , being a strong theist , I hold the diametrically opposite view....As an actor.....I urge you to watch the film Chiththi......I will try to upload at least one scene....what a settled performance.....you cannot object to a voice....each person had his/her voice like Balaiah's was as unique as ranga rao's or S.v.subbiah's....Indeed the first person to speak in three voices......the shrill high noted one, the normal tone and the bass cracked tone with seamless interchanges was MRR. As an ardent Fan of Sivaji I can vouch for the amazing Talent of MRR. Indeed in his Autobiography he held MRR in such high esteem that he has called him a "genius"...... Any actor who could be a Villain , a comic and a serious / good person (paar magaley paar for example) must have had range...a hall mark of true actors.
If you see the climax of Rakthakaneer - yes you will have him in high decibels - you will notice that as a person with affected feet he will NEVER stand upright and independant always swaying and leaning on a door/pillar or SSR...Mastery of Body Language....
In my opinion ( for what it is worth) M.R.Radha will always be in the Top 5 Actors the South has produced and the Top 10 in the country for his sheer versataility as an Actor.....I am here talking only of his Histrionic ability.
Recently, revisited some scenes of Ratha Kanneer through youtube links given by a colleague.
At a time vizhundhu vizhundhu sirikka vechu, adhe samayathula nenjai urukkum/uruthum scenes undu indha padathil.
Vivek owes something to MRR!
Apart from the fact that he could old his own as an 'actor' (even with his limitations) in my book, he is one of the funniest in the B&W era, more than full-fledged comedy actors
Check out this scene from Chiththi....serious scene , no comedy etc. His level will prompt Padmini to raise the bar of her performance and in turn he will raise the bar on his and so on until two plus two produced Five.

Since my friends feel he was good in Black and white here is a nice sentimental "theist" piece from K.S.Gopalakrishnan's Dasavathaaram. MRR plays Hiranyakasyapu....Father of Prahladan.
Great acting.

As Mohanram sir said, MRR would have done a great job in Chitthi. He gives more importance to expressions in this film, while his normal vocal tricks takes a back seat.
PAAR MAGALE PAAR - another subtle & restrained performance by nadigavel.
Film came out in 1976......when MRR was 69 years old.....having spent close to 4 years in jail......see the ease with which he switches from sorrow to anger.....
