Yes, sadly his magic of the 70s kinda went missing after that, but I found Rainmaker and Tetro quite enjoyable. Yet to see the other ones, but the feeling one gets from reading the opinions on RT and IMDB isn't that great. Nonetheless, I still plan to get hold and watch as many as possible for I'm pretty sure there'l be some flashes of brilliance, which I'll be glad to accept.
And speaking of passing on the legacy, boy, Sofia is one heck of a director in her own right. Though she's made only a handful of films, their subtlety and reflective nature, mostly working on a very personal level, is something that not many contemporary filmmakers have managed to capture.

Rumble Fish & Dracula are pretty good. The latter is a high point for Olman.
Sofia Coppola is someone I'd readily acknowledge & like, but a wee bit suspicious of art-house posturing off-late..

Saw Lynne Ramsay's 'We Need To Talk About Kevin'. Like Coppola's Somewhere, made in 7 millions. Johnny Greenwood score is so subliminal here. Ramsay always strives for a particular aural-visual design that serves the thematic & psychological plane.
