Trivikram - Suriya Movie Doubtful?
Kollywood superstar Suriya turned producer recently and produced "24" with lavish budget. But he is set to lose heavily on this project in Tamil though his film is performing extremely well in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
The Telugu version can be considered a hit but the Tamil version has turned out to be a big flop. In this scenario, he is reportedly planning to hold his next film in the direction of Trivikram in Telugu.
At present, Suriya is shooting for his trusted director Hari's "Singham" franchise. After completion of this movie, he wanted to begin a movie in the direction of Trivikram in Telugu and Tamil. But the fate of "24" in Tamilnadu has made him to think otherwise.
Trivikram has great grip on Telugu market but he may not understand what his fans in Tamilnadu want, Suriya is reportedly thinking.
Vikram Kumar's content has worked with Telugu audiences since he has made films in Telugu and he knows the market here but his taking didn't go well with the Tamilians.
Hence he doesn't want to take the risk of making a bilingual with Trivikram at this moment. He reportedly wants to do this movie after a year.

I looked at the numbers. Production cost 60C, promotion 5C. Total 65C
If they are going to end up close to 1.1 C or even 1.15C globally on the theatricals with another solid week plus satellite rights, Audio rights profit, two language sales of audio and Satellite, Now Hindi Film Industry folks are keen to acquire the remake rights add another 5C at the least.
It is more than 2.5 times the making costs!. They should feel happy. No Shankar/ ARM/ MR and still movie is a 100 Cr club and it brought many critics to cheer and say nice things about the movie. What more can the production house or the exhibitors can expect in these days when movies dont even remain in the cinema halls? Piracy would have eaten a small piece of this pie.
Uttama Villan- classic example. Novelty in every department of story telling, camerawork, Music making and all of it. Common movie goer refused to lap-up this rare genre of a film making. 15 years from now they will celebrate it as though they just came out of brain dead state (like athreya) and start aggressively talking about promoting the movie like Anbe Sivam (recent parallel).

I saw the movie with family on the first day , here in Atlanta and my 12 year son liked it. He didnt complain any bit or about the lagging portions!. My seven year old liked it in bits and again did not grumble either , otherwise in about 1 hour he would start humming....lets go! Movie is over ... He did it for UV but not for papanasam or Theri.

It collected about 1.5 million in USA. Only Enthiran and Sivaji (?) and lingaa may have collected more than 24! It did do well in andhra.

'24' box office collection: Suriya's film joins Rs. 10-crore club in Kerala
Suriya's "24" has created history in Kerala. The Tamil flick has made a record breaking collection in God's Own Country and has now joined the Rs. 10-crore club.
The movie has grossed Rs. 10 crore at the Kerala box office. Sopanam Entertainment, the film's distributor in Kerala, confirmed the news on Twitter andposted, "#24TheMovie crossed 10cr mark in Kerala.Thank you all for making it as a Blockbuster..!! [sic]" It is the first film of Suriya to have reached this mark. It now features in the list of top Tamil grossers in God's Own Country.
In fact, he is the fourth actor to register his name in the Rs. 10-crore club in Kerala after superstar Rajinikanth, Vikram and Ilayathalapathy Vijay. "Enthiran," "I," "Theri," "Kaththi" and "Thuppakki" are the Tamil films that have reportedly made collection of above Rs. 10 crore in Kerala.
"24" has also broken Suriya's previous best of Rs. 8.3 crore, made by "Singam 2," in Kerala. Hence, the latest film has turned out to be a special flick for Suriya.
Meanwhile, the collection of "24," which was made with the budget of Rs. 70 crore, has dropped in many centres. The movie has collected over Rs. 100 crore worldwide and has minted Rs. 31 crore ($4.64 million) alone from the international box office.
The underlying part of its success story is that "24" has done exceptionally well overseas, compared to the domestic box office. The movie has impressed the audience with its good content and Suriya's electrifying screen presence backed with brilliant visuals.
Vikram Kumar's "24" has Samantha and Nithya Menen in the female lead roles. It is a science-fiction movie about time-travel, which has been produced by Suriya himself under his home banner of 2D Entertainment.
