VV didnt have stupid group dancing by the lead pair, just b4 the climax, just for the sake of having one...

VV didnt have a amateurish screenplay with cliched scenes and dull characters like a tea master appearing as a MP....

a true classic or even a good class movie shouldnt have the above said things...

Good points! Every movie has its own negative points and even VV has, which i don want to list and start a new debate which is unneccessary for my time!

VV is a good movie still but not great!

I have already given my views on both SOK and VV and have nothing new to add. In my opinion both movies are okay and nothing to shout about.

If at all a comparison is needed, then it should be between Kaakka Kaakka and Vettaiyadu Vilayadu - but even that would be a comparison between a classic (KK) and an ordinary movie (VV).

vv is not a great movie either!...both are good!

only great cop movie ive come across in tamil is kurudhipunal which cannot be celebrated by tamils as the story is by govind nilhani!

any good police stories by tamil writers?

My Captain's Pulan visaranai should top the charts in Police movies :D Very casual acting but realistic portrayal of Auto shankar & other relevant issues at that time ( including that kidney stealing )

in the film making ... carlito's way and kaaka kaaka

both films starts with the charecter shot and their flashback is shown!

the narration style of the hero...in both films the hero narrates the story after shot in the first scene in a similar way!

After all the anonymities surrounding the movie’s take off are cleared, Gautham’s venture Udal Porul Aavi after Pachakkili Muthucharam is finally ready to take off.

The movie with Surya in the lead is expected to commence by the end of this year.

Gautham and Surya have zeroed in on Asin to play the heroine part in Uday Porul Aavi. If you may well remember, in the recent past, Asin was not in the good books of Surya and vice versa. Asin declined the offer made for Sillunnu Oru Kadhal to play the part of Bhoomika, which did not obviously please the likes of Surya. There were also rumors that Surya did not invite Asin for his marriage party as a sequel to this episode.

Ending all the controversies, the hit pair of Gajini will star again in Udal Porul Aavi. The movie is likely to generate huge expectations since Gautham has already pulled off a hit with Surya in Kakka Kakka. Harris reportedly scores music for the movie.

Surya is doing a movie with ameer titled KANNAPIRAN tentatively. People would remember this name which was a rumour spreading through SMS that Ajit his supposed to act in a movie directed by Murugadoss in end of 2007 :lol:

Anyhow Kaaka Kaaka was good. Calling it a classic :? mmmm.... it had flaws.

No police officer uses terminologies like " Avana Podanum Thookanum" literally Goonda's usage were adopted for Police.

The officers are always in disguise i mean no uniform. First of all no police officer is allowed to have a gun in the belt as shown by all nonsense police stories without a special order. The Villian Jeevan deliberately escapes within the sight of Surya but still Surya cannot catch him during the fight in the building.


It was a terrific haunting story and a stellar performance from Surya no doubt but a serious story took direction towards selfish love oriented goal and with the same flaws with other police story cannot be termed as CLASSIC in my opinion.

The movie was however , beyond these , a terrific one worth watch ing as many times u want especially for HARRIS JEYARAJ, Surya and Camera-Work.

Surya + Gautham = 11.5 C!

It is the biggest ever price for a Surya film. Surya, Gautham Menon and Harris Jayaraj is reuniting after Kakkha Khakka under Gautham’s home banner ‘Photon Film Factory’.
The film has been tentatively titled Udal Poru Aavi. It is said to be a supernatural thriller and not a police story. Deepika Padukone is the heroine and the shoot will start in Chennai in the last week of this month.

Gautham’s regular technical team of cameraman Ratnavel, art director Rajeevan and editor Antony will be a part of the film.

Gautham is rumoured to have worked out a record Rs 11.50 Crore deal on a first copy basis with ‘Oscar’ Ravichandran. Oscar Films will be distributing Udal Poru Aavi worldwide.

Its due to Production Problem surya... Surya wanted to produce it under his banner but 6 crores wasnt enough for VishnuVardan so they are on the lookout for another producer.

Vishnu said without surya too he would cast someone else and proceed with the movie... he has that much confidence on the script... Hope its a treat to all of us :wink:
